We have stayed in many airbnb's across the world but this one is my absolute favourite. The cottage is old, historic, full of traditional french style but at the same time warm, well laid out, practical and most of all homely. The welcome from Frederique was fantastic, we arrived quite late, with tired and hungry children and so to arrive to find the fridge and cupboards stocked with some basic food (and some wine) was amazing! The location is near to the river and many chateau's for some great cycling and walking opportunities around the Loire. It was early spring and so we never got the chance to test out the pool, but it did look like it would be a lovely addition in the summer months.

Our stay here was our finest Airbnb experience to date. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Frederique and her family were the most gracious, thoughtful and generous hosts, offering such a warm welcome to us, the kind you receive when visiting family. The property as well as the grounds/garden are beautiful and offer all the comforts you could hope for, including for our dog. We were working remotely during our one week stay and the internet connection did not fail us. (It is faster than our business connection in London.) Shopping was easy, be it in Saint-Jean-de-Braye or in Orléans. There is a lot to visit, see & do which we hope to catch up on on our next visit when we aren’t working (!). Frederique and her family were always available to guide and help us throughout our stay. We drove over with our electric car and we’re able to both park and charge our car in the property’s private parking space - this was incredibly practical too for us. We were sad to leave but look forward to returning to a wonderful location, home & family in the near future. Thank you Frederique & family.

Highly recommended for both the quality of the home and as a base to explore the central and eastern portion of the Loire valley. Easy access to Orleans and its train station for visiting all the major stops along the Loire as well as many chateaus within 30 minutes to 2 hours by car. The house itself is perfect for a family of 5 or 6 with plenty of room to spread out. We visited in mid-June and temperatures were in the high 80's F but it was cool enough at night to be comfortable (bedrooms are all upstairs, where it was obviously warmer). Kitchen is adequate for cooking and dining, but we ate most of our meals at the table on the patio to enjoy the garden (which is awesome) and Nestor, their extremely friendly and playful border collie. The best part about the stay is how the hosts made us feel at home. The pantry is fully stocked and includes most of what you need to prepare meals during your stay, and even has snacks, pasta, rice, etc. The refrigerator had a frozen pizza, milk, butter, juice, wine, beer, fruits, and vegetables when we arrived, and there was even a really good cognac, port, etc. The garden is full of fresh herbs for cooking (I noticed, and used, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage, and mint). One of the most frustrating things about traveling long distance is arriving exhausted, hungry, and disoriented, but the welcome we had here allowed us to just relax and enjoy the pool and garden on our first day. Definitely will return here the next time we visit the Loire!

A lovely house in a very quiet location. The house is very nicely furnished and the kitchen well equipped. All the rooms and bedrooms are comfortable homely. The house is set in the wonderful grounds of the family home and it must be beautiful in the good weather. Frederique, Remi and Simon could not be more welcoming and helpful. I can guarantee that if available, I’ll be going back.
