Le Poirier Gite is independent in peaceful countryside with a games room, private heated pool and close to Noyant (4km) for all essentials. A great base for all the main attractions of the Loire Valley. You can relax and chill out or have an action packed time - you choose. Self-cater or eat out at one of the many restaurants in nearby towns and villages, all of which welcome children. This gite is great for families and children who don't need a cot, couples, singles and business travellers. Le Poirier Gite is a modern conversion of 2 ancient parts of Le Verger, a traditional longère farmhouse, where the owners live. All areas are light and airy but with the traditional thick walls that keep them cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold. The main area, La Cabane (originally a farm workshop), has a French kingsize bed (160x200cm) with a super-comfy mattress-topper. There is also a comfortable seating area for 4 and dining table (good size for board games but also if you need to work) and seats for 4. Le Cave (originally the wine store) is a separate room and can be made up with either 2 singles or a French kingsize double - you just have to choose - and there is a separate shower room next to this bedroom There is small, separate, well-equipped kitchen between the 2 rooms and a walk-in shower room off La Cabane. Our nearest town is Noyant (4km). Here you will find a supermarket, 2 bakers, 2 pharmacies, a health and dental centre, post office, 3 banks, various other shops, a church, a tabac (bar/café), 2 larger bars open in the evenings and 2 restaurants that are family friendly. There is also a good, traditional French market on Fridays and a park area with swings etc. There are also tennis courts, bowls (French version) and an open air, heated, swimming pool with diving boards. Riding is available nearby.
There are a huge number of markets in the towns and villages around us and within 15 - 20 minutes there many international restaurants and some excellent takeaway options from Gourmet French to pizza, chinese etc.
Saumur is a major shopping centre and our supermarket café there should be experienced to be believed - but you may forever after be disappointed with British versions! Then there are the cities of Angers and Tours too!

出行信息

You need a car or motorbike to visit Le Poirier Gite and parking is free on site. Once there you will find many rambling and cycling opportunities. Bikers like us because of ease of access to Le Mans but also because of the roads around us!
A drive of 25 - 45 minutes will take you to an amazing range of places - look at our photos for some suggestions - there are just too many to list.
We have 2 beautiful rivers near us: The Loire with many opportunities for boat trips or you can walk or cycle along it - or just sit and dream. Then we also have The Loir, smaller but charming with the opportunity for fishing.
There are also many lakes near us, plus woods, activity parks etc.
Saumur has a station too so you can choose to explore further afield - Tours, Angers - even Paris - without worrying about driving in a strange city. If you have a particular interest that's not mentioned please do ask us about it.
