Andros · 整套别墅 · 4室6床3.5卫 · 可住10人 · Traditional converted Venetian fort house
This unique house is ideal for family or group of friends holidays. An old converted Venetian fort house, over three floors, it now sleeps a total of 9 in the main house and another 2 in the guest house. Its interiors are warm, original, full of colour with utterly authentic furniture.Situated at the top of a large plot of land inside the village of Lamyra, the house has its own extensive private garden with citrus trees and ortasias flower beds. There is also a little private family church. The house has spectacular views over the Aegean and the valley beneath, with the main town of Chora also in view in the distance. Guests can alternate from te rustic Lamyra to the townhouses of Chora easily either by car (max 10min drive) or on foot (20 minute walk through a leafy path), to grab a coffee or a meal on the pedestrian high street, or visit one of the museums, galleries or landmarks. There are also two beaches, to swim and take walks on and paths leading off to a variety of places, letting you “breathe in” all the landscape.
Really fantastic house with plenty of space and loads of character - a beautiful stone-built house overlooking hills and the sea. There are lots of places to sit and relax in sun or shade and it's great to have a pool. The house is only a short (c.10 minute) drive to Chora, the main town of Andros, which is a wonderful place to wander around. Alexandra and Dimitri were very helpful arranging car hire and showing us round the house on arrival.
This house is a gem. Gorgeous location, right near a walking path to several villages with excellent views, and also an easy drive to town. The beds are comfortable and the house has everything you need. (Including a vegetable garden with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers!) The place actually is more impressive than the pictures- which are stunning. Alexandra and family were able to answer any questions we had.
This house is extraordinary; full of charm, and history, and very quirky and original. It felt like you were stepping back in time. we particularly loved sending the children out to collect cool water from the ancient spring. Alexandra and her family were extremely kind and approachable, helping us decide what our plans should be, and we loved our stay in Andros.
Alexandra is a wonderful host. The house is truly unique and the gardens are spectacular with fruits and vegetables and flowers. We loved our stay and the pool was lovely on windy days.
Alexandra's home was absolutely lovely, better than described. The grounds are the showstopper with so many terraces with views and flowers everywhere. There are lots of steps, so will need to be in reasonably good shape. Alexandra and her husband were the most accommodating hosts - giving us lots of local recommendations and making sure we made the most of our time there. I would love to stay again.
The island has a rich history dating back to ancient prehistoric and historic times, as well as the Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman occupations, evidence of which can be seen throughout the landscape and within the local museums, libraries and excavations. The village of Lamyra is on its own a gem of a place, sitting in its little haven of lush green landscapes (olive, cypress trees, bougainvillea and wisteria growing everywhere) and plenty of fresh water springs flowing beside you almost everywhere you stroll. These hills are ideal for long walks, trekking and generally exploring the nooks and crannies of this unspoiled island.
Andros is the closest island of the Cyclades to the mainland of Athens, just a 2 hour ferry ride from Rafina (a port 20 minutes away from Athens international airport).
