Relax and unwind in this lovely old French farmhouse. Situated in the peaceful countryside, facing south, amongst beautiful natural gardens with lovely open views. The house is newly renovated, completed 2022, and is stylish, very comfortable, and fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay special. The property is located in the centre of Normandy, making it a perfect base for exploring the famous attractions. The old Farmhouse is beautifully decorated and furnished with love and attention to detail. We designed it to be cosy, comfortable and spacious with a tasteful mix of modern and old ~ making a very welcoming home from home! For hundreds of years 'Groucy-de-Bas' was a typical Norman dairy farm. In 2014 my husband Bill and I discovered it, derelict and looking very sad, and so the labour of love began to restore it all. Porch ~ Ideal space for hanging coats and storing shoes. Living room ~ Comfortable and cosy, with a large open fireplace and wood burning stove. Two sumptuous sofas, and a television with English and French channels, Netflix, WiFi, Dvd player, dvds, books, games and puzzles for all ages. Kitchen ~ Pristine, fresh, bright and spacious with a large oak dining table and ample seating for everyone. Fully equipped with all the modern appliances and essentials that you need. Complimentary tea, coffee, olive oil and condiments. Upstairs ~ Three beautifully decorated bedrooms, with original oak beams. Velux windows and black-out blinds. 2 larger bedrooms ~ Super comfortable king size beds. 1 smaller bedroom ~ 2 standard single size beds. Comfortable and quirky. Each bedroom having ~ ~ Luxurious pillows with anti-allergy pillow protectors ~ Summer or winter duvets ~ Fresh cotton bed linen ~ Fluffy Egyptian cotton towels Shower room and toilet ~ Squeaky clean and bright with a corner shower cubicle for those refreshing showers, and a double sink unit. Electric radiator. Landing cupboard ~ Extra towels and warm blankets. Hanging rail for your clothes.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Rachael and Bill are amazing, wonderful hosts! Super friendly and helpful. The house was immaculate and the garden around the house was beautiful and peaceful. It was the perfect place for our family while we were in Normandy - it was easy to get to the DDay beaches and to Le Mont Saint Michel. It is also easy driving distance to a number of other destination spots in Normandy.
We could not have felt more welcome or more comfortable. Our hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy the old farmhouse. A million thanks to Rachael and Bill!!
This was a return visit to The Old Farmhouse. It is a peaceful and delightful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside. We love the drive to Bayeux and this time went to a few Brocante places to look at old furniture and china . Rachael guided us to some great places. The cottage is very comfortable with a warm log fire and spacious. We definitely plan to return . It’s so nice and Rachael and Bill make us feel really happy when we stay here .
Our stay at Rachel's farmhouse was the highlight of our trip to Normandy. Rachel and Bill's attention to detail was evident throughout the space, making it a cozy and inviting retreat. The farmhouse was spotlessly clean, and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The evenings spent gathered around the fireplace, playing board games, were some of the most memorable moments of our trip. The farmhouse provided everything we needed to cook delicious dinners together, and Rachel had thoughtfully equipped the kitchen with all the essentials. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rachel for her hospitality. We had an incredible time and hope to visit again soon. We'll definitely be recommending Rachel's farmhouse to our family and friends for their own trips to Normandy.

The house is in a tranquil rural setting, with easy access within 10 minutes by car to Supermarkets, Bars, Bakers a Bank and all other essential shops in our nearest town of Torigni-sur-vire.
There are many lovely walks and cycle routes around the quiet country lanes directly from the Farmhouse. Take a short walk up the hill from the property to the Water Tower, and you will be delighted with the 360° views across the stunning Normandy countryside.
An ideal central location. A few minutes drive down picturesque country lanes, will give you access to the major routes to all the famous Normandy attractions ...
Le Mont St Michel: 55 minutes.
D-day beaches and Museums: 50 mins.
Bayeux Tapestry: 40 minutes.
The Souleurve Viaduct Skypark for bungee jumps, luge, Go-Ape forest playground with zip wires: 10 minutes.
St Lo Equestrian centre in 15 minutes and much more.
The train station is at St Lö, 20 minutes away by car, which will give you fast train services to Caen, Paris and Rennes.

My husband Bill and I are British. We moved to France in 2014, and began living our dream to restore an old derelict Farm. We are very proud that we have saved it all from tumbling down, and did it entirely by ourselves! I was a Registered Nurse for 34 years and Bill was a Building Services Engineer. Luckily he can fix anything! He loves DIY, fishing and restoring old motorbikes.
