In the beautiful village of Atsipopoulo a few kilometres from Rethymno centre, you will meet the traditional guest house 'Villa Myrtia', a 150 sq. metres with a private swimming pool that can host until 8 persons in 4 bedrooms. Villa Myrtia locates at the center of village Atsipopoulo, which means that local amenities (restaurants, supermarket, coffee shops, ATM, pharmacy etc) are only 2 minutes walking. However, the villa keeps its privacy and its calmness inside the nature. The owners have respected the traditional architecture of Crete and have used indigenous materials such as stone and wood. However, they have constructed a very comfortable house, as it is the most important point of holidays. They await you to experience the Cretan hospitality, tradition and history, as well as pleasurable moments of relaxation and serenity. Villa Myrtia is one of the two-twins villas that locate at the center of village Atsipopoulo, which can meet all your first needs. Supermarket, bakery, groceries and butchery shop, cofee shop, restaurants, ATM and pharmacy are all in walking distance (200 metres from the entrance of the villas). However, as you come in from the entrance of the villas, the whole atmosphere changes, as our villas locate inside the nature in a peaceful and ideal for relaxing enviroment. The center of Rethymno is also 5 kilometres away and 10 minutes drive. Villa Myrtia is concstructed in maisonette style, measures 150 m2 and has a private swimming pool and balcony. Moreover,it can host 8 persons in 4 bedrooms. Two of them have a double bed and the rest two have two single beds each. On the ground floor you will find the living area with a fireplace, a full-equipped kitchen and a dining area. It also includes the first two bedrooms, one bathroom and a lavatory. The top floor consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lavatory and a balcony with a view of the traditional village nearby and the nature. All the rooms are air-conditioned. The villa is equipped with Satellite television, DVD player, CD Player and radio, Coffee machinet, Microwave, Toaster, Dishwasher, Clothes washer, Deposit box, Hair-dryer and Baby cot. The exterior of the villa includes a 27 sq.metres private swimming pool, a dining table and seats for all the 8 persons, as well as 8 sunbeds in order you can enjoy the cretan sun. In addition, each villa has its own barbeque facilities for your personal use.The swimming pool of the villa can also be heated with an extra cost of 40 euros per day (upon request at least 7 days before arrival and valid only for the whole booking) The location of the villas are ideal for exploring our whole island. Located in the center of the north part of Crete, only 3 kilometres from the highway provides easy access from the local airports (Heraklion and Chania) and the opportunity to visit from the big cities of the island to the smallest beaches in both north and south part of Crete.

Friendly host and an amazing villa!
The villa was lovely we had 5 children with us and they really enjoyed the swimming pool. George went out of his way to help us with recommendations, transfers anything we needed nothing was too much. We also enjoyed a lovely meal which George’s mother prepared for us would definitely recommend doing this. Would definitely return here. Thanks so much for having us.
Our family had a fantastic holiday in Crete where we stayed in Atsipopoulo Villas. George and his family were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and always responded quickly, making our experience at the villa in Atsipopoulo, Crete, even better. The villa's private setting and lovely pool were a dream. They gave us fantastic local recommendations, and everything was spotlessly clean. The house is located in beautiful, quiet surroundings in the town of Atsipopoulo, and central to many good excursion destinations. We felt like we found a hidden gem in Crete. We had a lovely stay at this villa. George is a great host and really cares for all his villas. He was always available and provided clean towels halfway through our week. His mother kindly provided us with some local food which we all enjoyed. The location is good with a great small super market, a good bakery and and some good restaurants in the village plus a second hand clothes shop! There is a large LIDL less than 10 mins drive away. The pool was great fun and George cleaned it regularly. We enjoyed days out in Rethymnon (we preferred the old town here to the Chania old town we had visited the previous week), Preveli monastery and palm beach (a must visit), Spilies beach (a bit hard to find and stony but a nice location), and Knossos. We would recommend a guided tour for Knossos if you choose to go. If you want some ancient history a bit nearer we would recommend a quick visit to the Postminoan Cemetery at Armenon/Armeni.
The villa was impressive, beautifully presented and kept very clean. The air con was in all rooms and helped regulate the temperature very well. The private pool was also maintained well and the kids (and adults!) enjoyed many hours in it! George and his family looked after us; they were very friendly and even provided some home prepared food at a couple of points (very tasty!). He communicated very promptly in preparing for our stay, answering multiple questions and coordinating a hire car for us, as well as greeting us and giving a quick guided tour of the villa when we arrived at an unsociable 1:30am. The guide on Crete and the villa / local area that they sent across in advance was very detailed and we used it several times. In addition, when we were there, they helped us with restaurant recommendations / booking, a good taxi company and even a good local beach! Thanks George and family for a thoroughly enjoyable stay, we didn't want to leave and would love to come back to villa Myrtia one day.

Our villa locates in the center of village Atsipopoulo. That makes access to all the local amenities more than easy. In only 2 minutes walking you can visit supermarket, restaurants, coffee shops, ATM, bakery, pharmacy and anything else that you will need. However, our villa facilities can quarantee to you all the calmness and privacy needed to enjoy your holidays the most.
Atsipopoulo village is also a very picturesquare village. A walk in the narrow streets of it and a visit to the traditional churches and places will bring you in contact with the greek tradition.
A bus stop is only 50 metres from the entrance of our villa. The guests can easily take the bus to Rethymno city or the Rethymno bus station and from there explore the whole Crete.
Moreover, taxi service is available with a phone call.
We can organize for our guests the transfer from the airport (Heraklion or Chania), as well as a car rental.

My name is George Kokkinakis and i have studied Mechanical Engineering in NTUA. As my family is the owner of the two beautiful villas, Elia and Myrtia, i have started organizing renting our villas to guests all over the word. I have made some lessons learning how to communicate with my guests, but i think that contact with guests is the best school, so that is my priority. I and my family are always next to our guests before and during their stay and we are trying every year to offer best services to our guests to logical prices.
