Eclectically decorated cabin a short walk from restaurants and shops on quiet street. Heating system is localized electric wall heaters on second floor (which worked great for bunk room) and space heaters and small wood stoves on first floor (which was still a bit cold and took a lot of work to build and maintain fire). This was fun for a few days, but would have gotten old for a longer stay. Host was great and met us on arrival to familiarize us with the heating situation and provide “fire starter” supplies.

Don't bother staying here in the winter... The only way to heat the giant living room/kitchen/dining room is by the combination fireplace and wood stove. There is central heat and almost the whole place is run on space heaters. We spent $2k on our 5 night stay and ran out of wood after 3 nights. We asked Vacasa for more wood and they refused to help and told us to buy it ourselves. We had a huge storm and after coming back from skiing all day, you'll not only need to chop up the few massive pieces of pine that burn super quick, you'll need to buy your own wood just to get warm... After 2 days of arguing with Vacasa, Airbnb got involved and Vacasa finally sent someone with 2 tiny space heaters which promptly blew the fuses. Vacasa is a terrible property management company (read the other reviews for this house). The house itself is beautifully and artistically built, but needs updated electrical and HVAC. The toilet leaks, shower faucet is broke, etc. It needs TLC. It's too bad.

We loved our stay here. The location is undeniably beautiful, and the cabin has an eclectic, rustic feel that we found very inviting. It has the unpolished charm of a home built lovingly by its former residents and has the early-AirBnB feel of stepping into a place where people actually live. Our only issues while we were there were that one of the toilets had trouble part of the way through our stay. With two bathrooms, it wasn’t a major issue, and Vacasa was very proactive in helping to find a quick solution. The other issue we ran into was the tv upstairs could not play either vhs or dvds, which the cabin delightfully supplied in abundance. Other than those issues, the abundant blankets kept us warm through the nights and the space heater and wood-burning stoves kept us warm in waking hours. If it had been much colder, we may have had to put in more work splitting the provided wood and tending the fires, but it was great for our stay.

Great place and location for being up on Mt Hood and exploring the area. There were plenty of activities at the house as well. The kids had a great time.

Wow! Very cool, cozy, authentic, rustic feeling but with updated living amenities. Roomy for three couples or large family. I will repeat this cool mountain get away. 1.3 hrs from Portland.
