汤森 · 整套民居 · 4室7床2.0卫 · 可住10人 · Red Barn Lake House in Wisconsin Northwoods
Our home is designed for fun and reflection. Built from repurposed barn parts, the house is in the woods on a full-rec lake with swans, loons, eagles, and cranes. There are 2 QBR and 1 BA on the main level. We have a family-friendly wheelchair accessible ground floor suite with a queen bedroom, a 4-bunk room, pool table, a private entrance and patio, a fire pit and 100' of lakeshore with accessible pier. Summers you can swim, kayak and fish, and we are on ATV and snowmobile trails. The house has 100' of lakefront and is adjacent to the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest. The main floor is a gathering space with full kitchen, 2 queen bedrooms, a full bath, a gas fireplace, and deck with a 36" griddle. The ground floor suite includes a TV room with games, pool table, and ping-pong table. The suite opens to a walk-out patio with access to the fire pit and lake. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (queen plus bunks) as well as a "Harry Potter" under-the-stairs nook with 2 more single mattresses. The suite has a bathroom with a roll-in shower, and can be closed off from the main floor for privacy.
We live on the edge of the Chequamagon-Nicolet National Forest, on a 176-acre full-recreation lake with a public beach and boat landing. The lake is great for fishing (panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike), swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and waterskiing. We have over 100' of lake frontage and a shallow sandy shore, with a pier and kayaks in the summer. The house is steps from a large network of forest trails used for hiking, biking, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Fall colors are spectacular with blazing red maples and oaks, bright yellow birch and orange beech (as well as wild mushrooms). Spring brings trillium, solomon's seal, bluebeard lilies, starflower, orchids, mayflower, and many more. A lovely place to be and smile and relax.
Located in the national forest, there are lots of wild free-roaming creatures nearby, some of which may roam onto the property. We ask our guests to be respectful of these creatures and follow the safe and respectful distance rule of thumb: 25 yards (20 meters) from most wildlife and 100 yards (90 meters) from large wildlife. Use binoculars or a camera with zoom to view animals from a safe distance.
The area is home to loons, cranes, and herons all summer and hosts migrating swans and many duck species in spring and fall. As well as turtles, toads, deer, turkeys, quail, black bear, the occasional (non-poisonous) snake, and many more. Summer months bring standard northwoods insects. We have a large garden frequented by bumble bees and hummingbirds .
All stand-alone, homes, excluding those that are not in a condominium tower, save those in Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, and any part of any nation in the Arctic Circle, are required, by Airbnb, to notify you of the possibility that one might encounter both dangerous, and fear-provoking, non-threatening creatures. We have pest control services to deal with mosquitos and wasps. The occasional deer and fox will roam across the yard. We do not have control of free-roaming creatures on neighboring woods, lakes, town, or community, and cannot be held liable for their maintenance of same.
This is a rural wooded area. Streets have very little traffic, and you can park on the side of the road in front of the house. There is no public transit, so you'll need a car, bicycle, ATV, or good walking shoes to get around.
