Everything was great! They helped us with the bus and the boat trip and they were really kind and friendly! The room really nice and confortable! Totally recommend!

Houng’s place is past a few family homes and towards the end of a well lit alleyway off of a secondary road in town. The location is quiet and peaceful. And while guests occupy a separate section of the building she shares with her family, one can get small glimpses of their lives which can be so interesting! Our room looked just like the photos, unfortunately there was some staining on the bedding which didn’t help first impressions. Also, the room had a strong musty smell -we had no choice but to keep the terrace door open at all times. The friendliness of Huong, her family and staff was exceptional! Very attentive, very helpful, and everything needed can be arranged through them -even on site scooter rental. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the main boardwalk. Perfect for us who needed a break from the chaos of Hanoi. Potentially, Huong has all the elements needed for an all around 5 star review….if only a bit of attention were paid to those cleanliness details!

Nice little hotel in a laneway in town, close to restaurants. Quiet and peaceful due to being tucked away. Family are super friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast and food at their hotel. Laundry was expensive 100k compared to local 40k and no heating in room. We rented a bike in town and were able to park it easily in the laneway. A nice place. Thankyou!

My partner & I are very quiet people. But this place made even us complain and cancel. It said there was a "kitchen". There wasn't. (In fact, outside food is strictly forbidden to encourage use of the onsite restaurant.) It said there was a "dedicated workspace". Also not so. We were 'upgraded' to Room 301 directly below the rooftop swimming pool, which meant we could hear weird pool noises that sounded like a dying alien dolphin, 24/7. This wasn't mentioned prior. Neither was the construction next door. The rooms were bare bone. Thin quilts but no bed sheets. Toilet paper but no tissues. A kettle but no cups. Black dust on the floor, windows, and fan blades. A wasp nest in the shower. This echoes complaints left here & on other properties Huong runs on Cat Ba Island (Woodstock Beach Camp, Jungle Beach Camp, Cat Ba SOL Beach). There's a pattern you can see emerging here. Either of serial oversight, wilful negligence, or intentional deception and omission. Neither are good.
