Thank you so much for your interest in booking the Prickly Pear Lodge! We know it sounds so cliche, but having a cabin in Munds Park is truly a dream come true for our family, and we are excited to share a small piece of that dream with each of our guests. Me, my husband Blake, and our two children reside in north Peoria (a suburb of Phoenix) when we are not enjoying the cooler temperatures of this amazing mountain community. I have lived in Arizona since the age of 9, growing up in the Tucson area and moved to Phoenix after graduating from college. Blake is originally from Chicago and will for sure throw in hints of Bears/Bulls/Cubs decor whenever allowed. He moved to Phoenix in 2009 and thanks to his thin blooded wife will never return to those below zero temps. Both Blake and I are very passionate about the state we live in, often preferring to staycation as opposed to traveling in order to enjoy Arizona’s beautiful scenery in our free time. We feel extremely blessed to live in such a beautiful place that also has endless opportunities in regards to career, family entertainment and activities, as well as great night life for those special occasions. We were first introduced to the Munds Park community in 2020. It was love at first sight for us both and the dream of having a second home here was born. We have spent an endless amount of time there during all seasons, also enjoying the perks and kindness of other short term rental hosts. Through those experiences we learned what guests really need and want in order to truly unwind and feel the bliss of being on vacation and away from daily responsibilities and schedules. It’s been a daily topic of conversation, a constant motivator, and now we are proud to say, this is our cabin! Outside of appreciating our two homes and the wonderful communities around them, Blake stays busy growing his law practice and you will typically find me in the hot yoga room either taking or teaching classes. Why Serena and Blake Moscatello chose Munds Park: There are many great and unique features of Prickly Pear Lodge. The front deck is absolutely stunning and is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or mimosa, as well as that cozy afternoon glass of wine by the fire. Pictures do not even do it justice! Our cabin is located in a cul-de-sac set away from any busy streets making it safe for children to play outside. It also has a relatively large driveway with plenty of space for parking and also giving you plenty of privacy from neighboring cabins. The A-frame shaped windows in the great room really provide that cozy cabin feel, and are the perfect way to watch the snow fall or to see the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Our bedrooms in the cabin are perfectly placed allowing guests to create a nice sense of separation when needed. The master bedroom is set upstairs while the two guests bedrooms are downstairs, and of course the one and only bunkhouse! The bunkhouse provides the extra space needed for larger parties without any feelings of being packed into the main cabin and it even has a full bathroom. The architectural features of the cabin are fabulous and are complimented perfectly by our cozy cabin decor and close proximity to Odell Lake and the Crystal Point Trailhead. Come for one visit and your heart will be won over! What makes this Cabin unique: As Airbnb hosts, Blake and I hope all our guests feel our cabin is truly their home away from home for the duration of their stay. We work hard to maintain the high standard of care the previous owners established. We hope and do encourage all of our guests to treat The Prickly Pear Lodge with care, attention, and how they would want someone to treat their own home. This cabin is our second home and not a full time rental and we care for it with that exact perspective. We do our best to stock the cabin with all the basic necessities (condiments in the kitchen, plenty of paper towels, cups, plates and bowls for ease of use and clean up, toilet paper, extra blankets and linens, games for everyone to enjoy, firewood, etc.). It is a true advantage as a guest to have a direct line of communication as opposed to communication through a property management company, so please take advantage!
