If you are looking for an overnight farm stay that is all about the peace and quiet, then Suikerbossie Cottage delivers. This traditional farm worker's cottage - all set about with 🍐, 🍑 and 🍎 orchards, and fynbos - is the perfect sweet and rustic getaway to go 'unplugged.' It has all the basics except for cell phone coverage, so make sure you have a book to read and then just embrace the surrounding views. Minette was so welcoming, and we were spoilt with a complimentary box of freshly harvested pears.

Suikerbossie was absolutely fantastic, so tranquil. lots of space our dogs loved it. We loved walking through the orchards, visited Joubertina town about 35km away, the highlight for us was exploring to De Vlugt town on the R339 Avontuur pad, it is well worth it, lekker homemade pies and Melktert and cold beer at Angie's G Spot. I can highly recommended Suikerbossie cottage, it is worth the extra drive if travelling afar.

We only had one night at Suikerbossie Cottage, but we really enjoyed our stay there. It was very clean, well equipped, nice big indoor-braai. It's on a big apple farm and due to its location it's very private. A big bonus for us was the large fenced-in area for our doggies to roam around safely, they loved it. The hosts are very lovely and helpful, check-in was easy and my partner got to catch (and release!) some big bass from the dam on the farm. Would definitely stay there again if we come back to Haarlem!

Beautiful cottage in a private and secluded location, pet friendly, and our host was considerate of the fact that we were traveling with an infant. Had left a box of children toys, and a box of delicious peaches. Securely fenced, dogs could roam about off leash for a while. All round very comfortable and relaxing. Would certainly stay again.
