The Kurpark is a popular attraction in Bad Liebenzell and one of the most visited parks in southern Germany. ## Burg Liebenzell
Burg Liebenzell is a castle in Bad Liebenzell, Germany. It was built between 1350 and 1360 by the Counts of Helfenstein-Wiesensteig, who were vassals of the Habsburgs. Several families have owned the castle over its history, including the House of Hohenzollern-Hechingen (1450-1623) and the House of Wurttemberg (1623-1806).\
The castle was first mentioned in 1294 as "castrum de Lidenzel". At that time, it was owned by Ulrich III von Helfenstein-Wiesensteig, who sold it to Duke Louis I von Savoyen in 1338; however, he soon had to give up his claim as he had pledged his lands as collateral for loans from various nobles, including Emperor Ludwig IV., Elector Palatine Friedrich II., Count Johann II von Nassau(-Dillenburg), Archbishop Hermann II von Kempten(-Freising). This resulted in Burg Liebenzell being pawned off several times before finally being purchased outright by Count Eberhard III von Wurttemberg-Urach sometime between 1450-1452 when he married Elisabeth von Hohenzollern(*), daughter of Frederick V (*).
