This Airbnb is gorgeous, beautiful unit, what a gem! We were able to access it literally no problem, and what a blessing to have AC during the hottest week so far! Easy to walk to nearby tourist spots, public transportation and downtown for anything you might ever need. Kelly's personalized list of nearby spots was also very helpful!

Really nice apartment with plenty of character - converted schoolhouse with high ceilings and very well designed. Location is great- 10/mins mins walk to North Station . In a very quiet area beside a park with plenty of good restaurants and bars close by . Kelly our host was really helpful. Would strongly recommend staying here. We had a great time .

Kelly's place in historic Charlestown is a great location for accessing Boston's historic sites, including the Bunker Hill monument, a short uphill walk from the apartment, and the Navy Yard (U.S.S. Constitution, although onboard tours are closed for now). There is also a beautiful green square in front of the building. The apartment is charming, spacious (bathroom is tiny but functional), well equipped, and comfortable, with many thoughtful touches - coffee (ground + Keurig pods), snacks, soaps, etc. Having a private and safe parking space behind the building is an amazing perk in densely populated Charlestown, with its charming gas lit, narrow streets. There are several local restaurants & cafes within a 5-minute walking distance (try Main Street Bistro and Figs). Other restaurants to try in the Navy Yard are Dovetail and the harborfront Pier 6 (amazing views and vibe, especially at night). Kelly was incredibly responsive - usually within just a few minutes when I needed something (see note below). I loved looking at the huge wall map in the office area and seeing what I imagine are all the places Kelly has visited around the world (marked with tiny magnets) and comparing them with my own travel history. The reasons for my "4" rating instead of a "5" - - The bed is very comfortable but high and was hard to get into (I'm 5'3"). I had to hold onto the top of the headboard with one hand and step on the side rail to pull myself up to the bed. I can't imagine how someone shorter than I am could even do that. A step stool would be most welcome! - The living room could use additional lighting, especially in the sectional sofa corner (for reading) - or perhaps higher wattage bulbs in the floor lamp, which is the primary source of light in that area at night. - It was difficult to reach some of the dishes and glasses in the upper cabinets without a sturdy step stool (it was impossible for me without a step stool). - There were no directions on the "house manual" page about the AC units, i.e., that the living room and bedroom ones can't be on at the same time. I came back to the apartment after dinner the first evening when it was almost dark - and couldn't get the living room or bedroom AC or lights to work. I contacted Kelly and she replied immediately with the information. She apologized for not including the information on her Airbnb page (I believe she's since added it) and told me I needed to flip the breaker (fuse was out). But I had to ask her where the breaker box was as I couldn't find it anywhere - in the back of one of the upper kitchen cabinets. Found it and removed a few dishes to access it although I had a hard time reaching it (again, a step stool would be most welcome). All in all, this was a charming and perfectly located place to stay - and so much more comfortable and more reasonably priced than Boston hotels. A home away from home.
