The Queen Vick is in a great location, and you can walk to cafes, restaurants and a grocery store. I appreciate that the place is pet friendly and affordable for the area. As other reviews have noted, you will hear the other tenants, and I recommend using earplugs and white noise (there are two fans available to use). For me, the communication with the host through Airbnb messages could be better.

This was a great place to stay. Very cozy and clean. Right in town and could walk to shops and restaurants in town and the Catskill Scenic Trail. Would highly recommend for a relaxing get away.

Best thing about this place is the full kitchen -- you could bake a cake in it if you got all the ingredients and pans. A Stewart's Shop and Walgreens are less than a five-minute walk away which made for quick meals and replenishing forgotten Excedrin. As others have noted, there are tenants in the house and some have heavy feet; the noise level is not much different than a motel, really, and I travel with ear plugs that blocked it all out. The lock box took some time to figure out, it's easy to set the numbers but actually getting it open was a challenge for me. Not sure if it's the box or me, but by the time I checked-out I had a feel for it.

Katy's place in Stamford was great value and as described. The space itself is basic, but has everything you need for a long weekend. As it is an old house, we did find that it was quite cold - there is heating but the kitchen especially was quite chilly! To find a restaurant for dinner, you will need to drive to a nearby town as there are little to no dinner options in Stamford - having a kitchen was helpful because of this. Stamford coffee was great for breakfast though. This location is also great for 30-45min drive to ski fields Plattekill, Hunter, Bellayre or Windham.
