As a former Airbnb owner, I’ve never set a cleaning fee and then asked my guests to clean. I paid for that service and one day prior to check in, I get the rules stating I need to clean up before I leave. I didn’t want to risk losing any portion of my refund so I HAD to stay there. I will likely not stay there again or recommend to others. I’m dreading what additional fees I’ll incur after this. We cleaned up but I feel like I should get some of that cleaning fee refunded. When I had my rental property, I paid a cleaning service and they got every penny of my cleaning fee.
