Willow House and artist studio is set in our own private native woodland. We have redesigned the entire first floor to create a stunning, contemporary space…Willow Apartment. Marble floors, antique beds and shabby chic furniture come together beautifully to create a stylish, welcoming, well equipped apartment for you to relax in and enjoy. Willow apartment is located 5 minutes from the quaint Georgian heritage village of Ramelton. An idyllic tranquil property, the apartment occupies the entire first floor of Willow House and working artist studio. The residence is set in 1.3 acres of native forest and mature gardens which boast over 100 species of trees and shrubs, including 11 species of native Irish trees. The apartment is a clean,contemporary, individually styled space. Private entrance to the apartment is through a shared utility room. Bedroom 1.. Antique brass and iron double bed (4ft 6"), shabby chic furniture and Italian marble floor. Views out over the treetops towards Lough Swilly and the iconic Donegal mountains Errigal and Muckish. This room has an adjoining modern wet room with wash basin and loo. Bedroom 2... Antique brass and iron queen size (4ft) bed, shabby chic furniture and Italian marble floor. Looks out onto lawn area and mature trees. Beds are dressed with feather duvets and sumptuous 800 thread count bed linen. Bathroom.. Spacious modern bathroom with full size bath and glass shower area, wash basin and loo. The beautiful Italian marble stair and hall area is bright and spacious. Fully fitted open plan kitchen with artisan built iroko worktops, oven, ceramic hob, sink, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Wrought iron dining table and chairs, large comfy pouffes, 3 seater leather couch. Smart TV with Netflix. Wi-Fi, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Ample pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. Hairdryer, towels, bedding, hangers, shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Check in from 3pm by smart lock. Check out up to 11am. Not suitable for children under 12. We have a stunning 40,000 litre fish pond. The property is a smoke free zone. No parties or events No extra guests. Use of the washing machine by request. No guest pets. We have well behaved, shy domestic cats on the property. We are open to arranging longer stays and winter lets.

Fabulous apartment,extremely clean,very spacious with everything you need available for your stay. Very peaceful surroundings for a very relaxing stay.Found Janet to be a very friendly,cheerful lady,would definitely recommend this place,would definitely stay again .
A great host, clear concise communicator, just all in all a wonderful person to deal with and place to stay. Our only regret was not staying longer. We are regular visitors to Donegal, but this was a first time staying in Ramelton. We'll be back though. A big shout out to Letterkenny Cabs too, excellent service.
Pristine, spacious accommodation. Tastefully decorated- loved the marble tiling throughout- felt more like being in the south of France , than being in Donegal. Close to Ramelton for shopping needs and a beautiful drive up the Wild Atlantic Way to Ballymastocker beach and on to Fanad Head. Windy, rainy weather while we were there, so the Guest Netflix account was a great bonus!
This is an absolutely beautiful apartment, just a 5 minute drive from the lovely little town Ramelton. The apartment is private, luxurious and the artwork is a really gorgeous touch. It has all the amenities we needed for our stay. Janet was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay at this gem of a place if you need to relax and rejuvenate, away from the busy world. Thanks Janet. I hope to stay again sometime.

We are situated 3km from the beautiful heritage village of Ramelton. It is the birthplace of Nobel prize winner William Campbell and founding Captain of the All Blacks, Dave Gallagher. The Mall straddles the salmon rich river Lennon where it flows into Lough Swilly. There is a variety of bars and eateries in the village with frequent live music events in the delightful thatched pub at the end of our road. This quaint village is a perfect base to explore the beautiful woods, wild empty beaches and mountains of Donegal...the jewel in the crown of The Wild Atlantic Way.
A short drive takes you to Fanad Peninsula and the world renowned Ballymastocker Bay. Close by, you can take a guided tour of the recently refurbished Fanad Lighthouse. At 25 minutes driving distance lie two of our national treasures. Firstly the breathtaking Glenveagh National Park to the west, with 17,000ha of spectacular post-glacial wilderness, home to red deer and golden eagles. Secondly, to the North, the expansive beaches and woodlands of Ards Friary and Forest Park. We are also just a 35 minute drive from the ancient ring fortress of Grianan of Aileach, constructed by the Uí Neill over 1500 years ago atop a remote hill. Standing on its 5m thick walls gives spectacular views to Lough Swilly and the Derryveagh mountains.
Don't forget to call at our wonderful Gallery and Craft Boutique in the village, Ross Fine Art. Established 15 years ago this is a treasure trove with work by some of the finest painters, sculptors and jewellers. We focus on affordable high quality, unusual artwork, from Ireland and further afield.
Turning left from the driveway brings you along wildflower lined lanes to the peninsula of Whale head, with ample shoreline walks along Lough Swilly, facing Rathmullan, Inch Island and the imposing face of Scalp mountain. A 1hr walk or short drive brings you to a 9th century monastic site and graveyard with dramatic sea views and open access historical ruins. This settlement was built by the O’Tonner and O’Donnell Gaelic chieftains, and operated as a monastery for 700 years until it’s surrender to Crown forces in the seventeenth century
