In the heart of Chianti Classico, Poggio Novoli lies on a hill about 500 m above sea level, with a breathtaking view over the countryside of the Val di Pesa, dotted with woods of holm oaks, olive trees and geometries of vines that stretch to the horizon. Strategically positioned between the historic borghi of Montefioralle and Panzano, along the road that in times past connected the Valdarno with the Via Francigena in Val d’Elsa, the property was once part of a farm estate known as Novoli. Over the years, the farmhouses that were part of it have been transformed into private residences. Today Poggio Novoli occupies the ground floor of the original farmhouse which has preserved intact its stone façade and which, on the first floor, houses the residence of the owners (not present in the period from May to September). The guest house has recently been renovated ensuring a harmonious balance between the tradition of the territory, such as the characteristic stone wall of the living room and the vaulted ceilings in Tuscan terracotta, the warm tones typical of Chianti used for the decorations, with a young modern style where natural materials, recycled wood and authentic details, are combined with metals, offering an essential welcoming environment. All around the lush garden, cloaked in a precious collection of multiple blooms, renders the outdoors a pleasant refreshing moment for all hours of the day, with the complicity of terraces, set-up areas and the wonderful swimming pool overlooking a dream lookout. Poggio Novoli is located on the edge of the renowned "door of Chianti": Greve, a historic borgo that embodies the most authentic and genuine essence of the Tuscan character, made up of art, history and food and wine excellences. The property is the ideal destination for a relaxing retreat in nature, but also a perfect starting point to explore the precious treasures preserved in the beautiful surroundings, such as the tiny borghi of Badia a Passignano and Montefioralle, or San Gimignano, Gaiole, Panzano and Radda that wind along the scenic Via Chiantigiana: traveling along it from north to south, from Florence to Siena, will be an unparalleled experience that will give even the most demanding travellers surprising and unforgettable views of the panorama. Interior: Poggio Novoli occupies the ground floor of the house and is completed by an annex a few metres away. From the pergola, the main entrance leads into an open-plan living area consisting of a kitchen (with a recess for the washing machine), dining area and lounge with satellite TV and modern fireplace. From here you come to a corridor along which are a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a passage room (to be used as a reading/relaxation/games room), which leads into the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. In the passage room is a sofa bed that can be used in the case of a couple who need separate beds or for a child who wishes to sleep with his parents, without exceeding the maximum number of people that can be accommodated. The third double bedroom, with large panoramic windows and bathroom with shower, is located in the annex.

The villa was well located and modern. Matteo was great when organising check-in, showing us the place and recommendations. The villa is a 15 min drive from Greve in Chianti which has some good restaurants and shops. Wine tastings on the doorstep too, so everyone can take part. The pool was also excellent - not a standard chlorine pool, which everyone really enjoyed. AC worked well, decently equipped kitchen and plenty of space. I would stay again and recommend it.

We are a family of 2 parents and 3 kids (aged 10, 13 and 15) and stayed here for a week. It is a beautiful property with stunning views and many seating areas. There is a main villa and a separate cottage a few steps away - both are newly renovated with contemporary finishes and air conditioning. The pool is great and we enjoyed it most days. The property has wonderful landscaping with fruit & olive trees, shrubs and flowers and there is a wonderful scent of honeysuckle in the air. The host was very responsive and was there to greet us. The property is about a 10-minute drive to Greve in Chianti, which is in the heart of Chianti region and not far from larger towns such as Siena, Florence and San Gimignano. It is surrounded by many vineyards and there are many small beautiful villages in the area. We enjoyed the property and the service very much and would highly recommend it.

The Villa was amazing. Could not recommend more highly. The views everywhere you look are as good or better than the pictures. The pool area and gardens are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The host was super responsive and helpful.

Beautifully renovated place with unbelievable views. Outdoor kitchen and eating area is a great place to enjoy a home cooked meal with views that you can never tire of. We loved the area. Greve is a great town with lots of restaurants and shopping. Great central location to see all of Chianti region.

Between the splendid provinces of Florence and Siena, lies one of the most popular and well-known areas of Tuscany: Chianti, a hilly region rich in woods and land planted with vines and olive trees, dotted with numerous, perfectly preserved medieval borghi such as Greve, Panzano, Gaiole, Radda, Volpaia and Castellina, rich in remarkable historical and architectural evidence and food and wine of extraordinary level. It is the authentic production area of Chianti Classico DOCG, an ancient wine marked by the unmistakable pink label with the symbol of a Black Rooster on a gold background which, over time, continues to maintain intact its prestigious characteristics. The property is located less than 4 km from Greve, a picturesque borgo famous for its large central square, called Il Mercatale, which since ancient times has hosted fairs, markets and cultural events and overlooked by historic buildings of particular artistic relief, such as the Municipal Palace in neo-Renaissance style and the Church of Santa Croce, which houses a 14th century fresco depicting a Madonna with Child and a triptych by Bicci di Lorenzo, dated 1420. Walking along the arcades that frame it, there are artisan shops, wine bars and restaurants offering typical products and culinary specialties. A few steps from the central square are the Museum of Sacred Art and the Wine Museum which, in addition to the display of numerous typical tools for the production of wine and a remarkable collection of corkscrews, offers tasting of about 200 different wines, of which a computerised explanation is given for each. Then, about 2 km away is the tiny borgo of Montefioralle, the birthplace of the navigator Amerigo Vespucci, a must if you want to appreciate the incomparable panorama seen from the hill and to discover interesting culinary proposals. The Chianti area offers numerous opportunities for recreation: nature and sports lovers can easily practice horse riding, cycling, hiking and even golf (about 18 km away, in Impruneta, is the prestigious Ugolino Golf Club, with a 18-hole course). The area is also interesting for the presence of numerous designer outlets, such as those of Reggello (The Mall) and Montevarchi (Prada). The property is easily reached from the airports of the region, that of Florence, 39 km away, or Pisa, 88 km away. The closest motorway exits (A1, Autostrada del Sole) are respectively 25 km (Firenze Impruneta exit, coming from the north) and 28 km away (Incisa-Reggello exit, coming from the south).
