Recommend for 4 persons only Great pub just outside however it’s closing down on the 19 November Furniture very creaky and noisy Heating thermostat not working It stated with Wi-Fi but on the welcome pack it says no Wi-Fi available We had to leave early as the bed settee was broken However we were given a full refund
A beautiful little get away! Loved the location with the pub on the land, goats at the end of the garden and a nice park behind. The accommodation was new and clean but could do with a few little personal touches.
Well looked after and great communication. Pub was lovely, good for those that want some peace and quiet in the countryside.
This is a very nice property and would be perfect for younger families and adults. However I think older generations would like a little more comfort, I.e chairs next to dining table as not everyone is comfortable sitting on wooden benches. However, these are quite clearly shown in photographs so just purely personal choice. Likewise I personally would have had comfy sofa beds so all parties could sit comfortably with back supports. As previously mentioned this is a lovely property but not for oldies who need a bit of back support
The lodges are really very nice, great little location. There is a park adjoined the lodge grounds, but although they feel like they are part of the lodges, just note that they are public and there is a second entrance to it,so you need to keep an eye on the kids whilst they are in there. We had a number of niggles but Joshua took note of all of them and I'm fully confident that he will address those issues. If they were addressed then these lodges are a really nice place to be - the kids loved it there. Pub is nice, not cheap, but the food is good.
Not far from Newmarket Racecourse, the Star at Lidgate sits in the home of thoroughbred horse racing. There are also a number of great fishing lakes nearby, such as Hermitage and Foxearth Fisheries, as well as golf clubs such as Gog Magog Hills, Links and Bury St Edmunds.
Even closer to your front door, the Star at Lidgate is next to a park with cricket nets, football goals and a zipline (which you’re never too old to use). Once you’ve exhausted yourself, you can relax in the beer garden and get to know the goats that live just opposite your cabin.
