This was such a cute little place . Loved the location and the country off grid setting . Only thing that disappointed me was there was no tv and dvds to watch as listed . We were looking forward to curling up watching a movie . Other then that it was a good experience

Stayed for 2 nights and it was absolutely perfect for two people! Definitely off the grid and out of town. Beautiful country roads. No cell service at all but we made the best of it. Definitely worth visiting. It’s only an hour and a half from Nashville so we did that as well!

Thanks to a great host! We loved & appreciated the peaceful stay at Western Dixie. I enjoy day trips & overnights with the kids, sometimes family & friends too, certainly impressed with this one! All enjoyed immensely! We found the cabin clean & as described completely powered by solar even the hot water. Gas for stove, maybe bathroom heater we didn’t need but that’s it, still had plenty of power for the night. The outhouse was well furnished for convenience, a modern clean shower & toilet. Not exactly roughing it. The cabin was cozy, heated by a wood stove which worked great on a chilly night plenty of wood + kindling. Easy enough even for city folks. Kitchen was well equipped providing all we needed but the food we brought to make & serve a tasty meal. Rolling hills, farmland, cows, horses, space to roam. Perfect for an off the grid experience. No service no WiFi which was a good break for us. Can’t live without? Maybe not for you, but we loved it. Experience worth having! 👍👍👍👍👍

This cabin was an absolute dream weekend for us to unplug and relax. My husband napped and enjoyed the views. I spent much of my time on the porch either reading or knitting in the sun. Our miniature dachshund saw horses in the field while he lounged in the sun on the porch. He managed to chase them off with his barking and was very impressed with himself for a full week after the trip. So, it did wonders for everyone in the family. I will say, however, if your plan for vacationing here is to watch TV all day and charge your devices all night, you are going to be disappointed. The solar grid can't keep up with that kind of usage. But it's fabulous for providing a fridge, lights, and some minor things like a crockpot without a hiccup. You also won't have cell service but we considered that a benefit.
