Cow Bay · 整套民居 · 2室2床2.0卫 · 可住4人 · Romantic rainforest retreat with magical waterfall
In the heart of the World Heritage Daintree, "Fairy Falls" is the perfect place to escape and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the oldest rainforest on earth. A private path leads to the enchanting Fairy Falls waterfall, its cascading waters permanently feeding a natural plunge pool, ideal for swimming and picnicking. Maybe you'll see an electric-blue Ulysses or even an elusive cassowary, or hear the sweet whispers of our resident sunbirds... THE SETTING The property is set in two acres of pristine rainforest north of the Daintree River and, as the northern boundary also adjoins several more acres of national parkland, “Fairy Falls” offers you the chance to forget the stresses and strains of everyday life and become fully immersed in the unique tropical wilderness of Far North Queensland. WELCOMING YOU TO “FAIRY FALLS” A welcome tray of cheese and crackers and a complimentary bottle of wine will be waiting for you at Fairy Falls. And, to get you started, there is also coffee, Daintree tea and, in the fridge, long-life milk and a cool jug of filtered Daintree water. DAINTREE RIVER FERRY To get to Fairy Falls, you will need to cross the Daintree river using the car ferry which runs from 5am to midnight. Just purchase a one-way ticket when you arrive at the Daintree Ferry as a complimentary return ticket will also be waiting for you at Fairy Falls. THE WATERFALL AND SWIMMING HOLE Making the most of your stay here means following the private path from the garden for 100 metres, taking care to cross the golden stile halfway along, until you come to the cascading waterfall with its deep swimming hole, which is just a two-minute walk away. Fairy Falls – the waterfall – is on national parkland and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Daintree Rainforest, which has been in continuous existence for over 135 million years. Using the picnic set provided, pack a lunch and while away a few hours waterside, surrounded by the birds and butterflies of this timeless place; take a dip, lie back in the crystal clear waters and gaze into the sky above, framed by the canopy of the world’s oldest jungle – for a while, let yourself become part of this truly unforgettable slice of paradise. Please note that swimming is at your own risk and the path to the waterfall can be steep and slippery in places so please take care. Due to its setting, "Fairy Falls" is unsuitable for children under 12. THE HOUSE “Fairy Falls” – the house – is fully off-grid and as eco-friendly as possible, powered by solar and blessed with pure Daintree drinking water. The property is a large log cabin with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room and two kitchens (the main indoors, the other outdoors), a separate study and a huge covered entertaining area overlooking the rainforest with glimpses between the trees of Thornton Peak, which, at nearly 1,400 metres, towers over the Daintree (the deck even has subtle spotlights for night-time jungle viewing). The house boasts a bohemian décor with an eclectic mix of Near East, Far East and Far North influences, including beautiful Balinese and Indian contemporary and antique furniture, and artwork showcasing a few of the fauna and flora that make this corner of the world so special. Both bedrooms have queen beds and the master bedroom – the Ulysses room – has a luxurious ensuite with a beautiful feature bath, separate shower and petrified-wood basins. The second bedroom – the Sunbird room – has access to a separate guest bathroom with a shower and a natural stone basin. We have a separate study too, complete with a large oak desk and monitors for you to plug into. And, should you need it, as the study also has a pull-out sofa bed (with a pillow-topper for extra comfort), it can double-up as a third bedroom. All linen, towels and toiletries are provided. The main (indoor) kitchen is open to the living room and has a rustic appeal with beautifully crafted cherry penda benchtops and antique Indian wall cupboards, a free-standing 900mm LPG gas oven with five burners, a large fridge-freezer, ample cupboard space and a double Belfast sink. LAUNDRY FACILITIES IN MOSSMAN Please note that although the standard Airbnb headings say there is a laundry, there is in fact no guest laundry at “Fairy Falls.” A clothes-airer is provided for drying clothes and swimwear but if you need to use a washing machine, there is a laundrette in Mossman. ENTERTAINING AREAS Outdoors there is the oversize covered entertaining area with its own rustic kitchen of natural-edge cherry penda benchtops, a sink, barbeque, and a bar fridge to keep your wine and beer at the perfect temperature for the tropics (not to mention close to hand!). The outdoor dining has a natural-edge mango dining table and benches for sharing special meals, as well as a day bed, sitting area, and ceiling fans to keep you cool on hot days. Just kick back with a glass of wine and the one you love, watch the wildlife or simply stargaze as the Milky Way meanders overhead. Beneath the house is a space we call "The Hide", consisting of two hammocks and a hammock chair with a camouflage netting backdrop, from where you can observe the garden and the rainforest beyond. THE GARDEN Depending on the season, the garden has many tropical fruit trees including soursops, durians, love apples, miracle fruit, ghost chillies, kaffir lime leaves and Thai coriander, so help yourself to the perfect ingredients for cooking up a mouth-watering dining experience of your own creation. BROADBAND AND MOBILE PHONE We have NBN satellite broadband, fast enough to stream movies on the 50 inch smart TV in the living room (to access entertainment platforms, please use your own membership details). Mobile phone reception is patchy but just walkaround a bit to get a signal.
Tranquil private retreat in the heart of the Daintree rainforest. Beautiful home with everything you need.

Thank you so much! We had a great time at your beautiful property. The waterfall is amazing! And we loved those little extras. 😍 Cheers, Ilona, Michael and Lenny
Everything has been thought of and done to perfection. This home is beautiful in every way with lovely decor and practical positioning. The kitchen has every implement you need and they are quality. Guests had left salt pepper a few spices kitchen towel, sugar etc. So amazing. Everyone raves about the waterfall and it is beautiful but so is everything else. Even binoculars you can use. We thought we would be too hot without Aircon (we are from london) but the fans are perfect and very well positioned over the bed etc. Thos home has been planned to a T. don't think of going anywhere else!
It's places like this that make you really appreciate a platform like Airbnb; to be able to stay in such stunning surroundings is incredible. The private waterfall and swimming hole was breathtaking - me and my girlfriends couldn't believe it was just ours to enjoy! Jacquie is a thoughtful and responsive host; we really appreciated the wine and cheese waiting for us which was a lovely touch.
“Fairy Falls” is located in the heart of where the rainforest meets the reef, and as well as private access to the national park waterfall which gives the house its name, we enjoy lovely views through the trees of Thornton Peak, Queensland’s fourth highest mountain.
And there’s so much else to see and do!
We're surrounded by world class tours and activities - to whet your appetite, here’s a selection of some of the things offered “north of the Daintree River”:

-The Daintree Discovery Centre is just 5 minutes away
-Take a half-day snorkelling tour on the Great Barrier Reef from Cape Tribulation with Ocean Safari (Cape Trib is a 25 minute drive from "Fairy Falls")
-For the only croc tour north of the river, take a Cape Tribulation Wilderness Cruise along Cooper Creek (there are several operators offering cruises up the Daintree River too – find them south of the river near the ferry terminal or in Daintree village)
-Take a guided rainforest day or night walk with Cooper Creek Wilderness Walks or Crocodylus respectively (the latter is only available in peak season, April to October)
-Go beach or rainforest riding with Cape Trib Horse Riding

-For those in need of a little indulgence (perhaps after all that ice cream!), the Issani Day Spa is very close by, just a couple of minutes down the road from us
-Plus there are a variety of boardwalks, beaches, creeks and swimming holes to explore along Cape Tribulation Road.
**Please remember this is croc country, so always respect the warning signs and never go swimming in the Coral Sea off local beaches**
There’s also a good selection of local stores and services as well as plenty of places to eat, including restaurant and café options within 5 to 25 minutes of “Fairy Falls.”
