Over a century old, this unique English cottage, located at Bhimtal, Nainital district, Uttarakhand, in the foothills of the central Himalayas in Kumaon. It was once the hunting and fishing lodge of an Englishman called Colonel Jones and bought by Mr. A.D. Moddie and Mrs. K.A. Moddie from Captain Elkins, one of the last Englishmen in Bhimtal, in 1963. The cottage is surrounded by flowers and fruit trees and is at an elevation of 4,700 ft with a commanding view of the hills and Bhimtal Lake. It is a sunny, flowering haven in spring, a green paradise in the monsoons and beautiful sunny, clear skies in the autumn and winter.

We had an amazing stay at the Wildflower cottage. It’s beautifully built, and very spacious. The outside sitting area is just the perfect place for hanging out and soaking nature. The cook, Ganesh made our stay even more rememberable. He was super courteous and cooked excellent food. Definitely recommend this place to other travellers.
Quaint and beautiful property. Its mostly for families or a group of 3-4 friends looking for a city detox. The cook and manager are amazing, they cooked sumptuous meals for us. We had two meals in a day at the property. kitchen is a part of the house and having help around only made us more comfortable and at luxury. Only recommendation is to have an AC for Summers. Overall, a great experience!! Must stay.
Amazing getaway from the hustle for city
Great place,great location,hospitable staff bit one thing i didnt like . They were charging menu wise on using kitchen felt more a hotel than any air bnb experience.
We stayed in the 2 room cottage. It had a lovely homely charm to it. Beautiful interiors and clean. The outside area was lush green and well kept . The caretaker and cook were very attentive and took really good care of us as well as served delicious food! We enjoyed chilling out in the morning sun. The only con here I would say is the fact that the common kitchen is joined with the cottage so all the cooking takes place there. There is just a door separating the kitchen with our cottage. Rest all was great. Would love to come back

Near Pacific Mall 500 meters with many places to eat, Other standalone Restaurants/Cafe in 1-2 km vicinity include Ama cafe, Mamagoto, Piccolo, Starbucks, and many others.
Bhimtal is in the middle of Nainital district's unique lake district, with Sattal, Panna and Naukuchiyatal lakes within 15 minutes drive away. Fishing of mahseer and carp are possible with a local licence. Boating, adventure sports and other activities are abundant in the area as there are a number of camps in the area.
45 minutes away from the Gagar Pass (8000 ft), an expansive view of the Himalayas is visible on a clear day, stretching from the Garhwal Peaks to the West to the Nepal peaks in the East; with the Nanda Devi range in the middle, 20,000-25,000 ft high; a most impressive view. On the Gagar range there are excellent forest walks in the Reserved Forest.
On the way to Gagar, one can visit the temple with a thousand bells beyond Bhowali; Then there is the 1200 year old temple complex at Jogeshwar, with rare deodhar forest walks around; a full day's trip. Nanintal town is about half an hour's drive away.
A two day trip to Binsar via Ranikhet is most enjoyable, with Binsar's pine, oak, rhododendron forests and snow views. Via Nainital, one can visit the famous Jim Corbett's house at Kaladungi, as well as Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary, on the way up to or down from Bhimtal.
Local Kumaoni arts, handicrafts, spices are available in the area and a number of eating places and resorts are within easy reach of the cottage.
