Pawan was a brilliant co-host. Right from the get go they kept in touch and proactively reached out with the instructions to get to Gunap from sanctuary. I genuinely regret not being able to stay for more than one night. We should have accounted for a good 4-6 days to fully take in the beauty of the location, all of the wonders of the sanctuary forest, the treks nearby and the amazinggg food cooked by Pawan and Amit. I am definitely going to try and come back for a longer duration.

This homestay, hosted by Pawan and managed by Shyam & Sundar, is an absolute gem! I stayed here for 4 nights and I couldnt have asked for a better retreat. The location by itself, within the Binsar wildlife sanctuary is of pristine and untouched beauty. It allows you for private space, right in the midst of nature. The room is super comfy and neat with all the basic amenities. I must call out Pawan for being a gracious host and a brilliant cook. He introduced me to local food from Uttarakhand and I enjoyed every single meal. He pours his heart into cooking. I cannot be more grateful for how wonderful he was to interact with. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a break from the regular hustle and bustle. If you enjoy nature, forest trails, and a digital detox - this is absolutely the ideal choice.

Spent few days in June 2023, Gonap is a small village consisting of just nine houses situated inside Binsar wildlife sanctuary protected zone. Idyllic heaven's resident host Pawan Gusain was very helpful and always smiling. I enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Thanks a lot to Sunder and his team.

This place is heaven. Pros- 1. Highlight was our host Pawan. He is friendly, helpful and super cook. 2. The place is not easy to reach and our other host Shyam was super clear about it. He told us not to get suitcases but bags. Even Pawan reminded us a day before we arrived that the place is in the middle of the forest,a small village and we will have to trek 3 km downhill to reach there. 3. The food was awesome. Pawan surprised us everyday with new dishes, Freshly made, many vegetables were plucked from their garden. 4. The place is in the middle of nowhere so it's a heaven for nature lovers. Its just forest forest forest. 5. Pawan helped us find a birding guide Kheem singh, who is very knowlegeable of birds and took us on walks, hikes, trails. Cons- 1. There was no electricity for 3 days that we stayed there and the place had no back up. 2. It rained non stop so we cud barely get outdoors. This is not a con of the house but just that we cud not enjoy such a lovely place .

If you want to spend a peaceful holiday, do visit Sunder’s place. The 3kms trek is totally worth it as you will feel welcome and close to nature at this place. The food prepared by these guys was healthy and yummy. This holiday at Gaunap was a treat to mind, body and eyes (scenic beauty).
