Nestled away on a quiet lane in rural Cotswolds is this beautiful detached cottage that dates back hundreds of years. Its characterful stone exterior is perfectly paired with charming windows and climbing wisteria, whilst its peaceful valley setting means you’ll feel relaxed from the moment you step out of the car. With space for up to 6 guests, it’ll be easy to stay put. But, venture out to the surrounding villages and towns to discover fantastic foodie ties and breathtaking country walks. Full of old-warm charm and rustic beauty, this cottage makes for a delightful escape for up to six in the country. The spacious, multi-level garden is a real haven in the warmer months; trees sing with wildlife and there’s a pretty courtyard area for alfresco meals in the sun. Inside, every corner of the cottage oozes with character and charm: from aged ceiling beams to traditional exposed stonework. Perfectly paired with tasteful antique furniture and contemporary furnishings, care and consideration have been taken to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Spanning three floors, there’s plenty of space for all kinds of activities. On the lower ground you’ll find a handy utility room as well as a snug for movie nights, which is also where the sofa bed is located. There's also a desk and bathroom here. Next door is a fantastic farmhouse kitchen with an AGA and a huge range of appliances too, including a coffee machine and grill. Up on the ground floor, enjoy board games by the fire in the formal sitting room, gather around the dining table for sociable feasts or unwind with the latest bestseller in the light and bright conservatory. Two bedrooms are found on the upper levels, boasting glimpses out to the beautiful English garden and finished with homely touches. Both share a bathroom with a shower and bath unit. With free private parking for two vehicles, the cottage is the perfect base for a memorable Cotswolds getaway. Dogs are welcome with a fee of £20/dog (max 2). It is also on the condition they are kept off sofas and out of bedrooms. Sadly we cannot accept cats or other pets for allergy reasons.

We had a really wonderful stay here in Horsley. The house was exactly what we hoped for, filled with original features, warmth and a beautiful enclosed garden. The 3 levels may prove difficult for some but was absolutely fine for us as a family of 2 children aged 4 and 7. Due to the unique nature of the cottage, there were a few things to consider … • Plenty bugs and spiders indoors. • The Aga wasn’t working initially so myself and my husband spent over an hour researching how to fix this as it was an integral part of the cottage stay for us, was to experience cooking with the Aga. However we did manage to fix this in the end, just took time off our trip, unexpectedly. However, overall, we loved the walks out from the cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed playing games around the fire and sitting in the areas of the garden soaking in the March sunshine listening to the birds (and owls at night.) The cottage had everything you could want and need inside which was fab! Thank you!
William's air bnb was really nice for me and my family to have some peace and quiet from the city life we're used to.
A lovely property full of character.....sitting out in the garden/conservatory in early spring sunshine was bliss! We booked at very short notice and William was extremely accommodating and responsive. The property may suit slightly younger guests; my parents are in their 70s and struggled a little with two flights of steep stairs, the tight shower area upstairs and several manuals to operate the heating, arga etc. However the place was comfy, great for our toddler/dogs and we appreciated the lovely welcome pack too!
We had a great stay at the cottage! William was very responsive and helpful with regards to any queries. As we didn't have a car, the numerous public footpaths in the area around the cottage made our stay very enjoyable!
Lovely place to stay. It is well stocked and everything was clean and tidy. The bathrooms are a little tired and the showers a bit awkward as a result. We didn’t mind this though as we were only there for three days. The host was really responsive and all amenities were as described.

The cottage is nestled on a rural lane with nothing but peaceful countryside all around. That said, the village convenience store and Hog pub are less than 10 minutes walk away. Furthermore, it is also just a stones throw to the pretty town of Nailsworth which sits on the River Frome and boasts an enticing combination of award-winning restaurants, pubs and cafés, as well as some fabulous independent shops. The town has a flourishing farmers’ market and a great choice of vintage stores. Over the last few years, it has secured a place on the Cotswold foodie map, with increasingly recognised eateries opening such as William’s Fish Market, Food Hall & Oyster Bar, Hobbs House Bakery and the highly-regarded Wilder.
To the south of the cottage and within a 10 minute drive is the brilliant Wild Carrot at Chavenage, where you can enjoy cocktails in the old barn, sustainably-driven food in the café or afternoon tea in the picturesque grounds. Nearby is also Calcot Manor Hotel, set within 220 acres of rewilded Cotswolds countryside. Feast in their restaurant or treat yourself to a well-deserved spa day! For sports lovers, Forest Green Rovers FC is about 15 minutes away, the Beaufort and Cirencester Polo Clubs are short drives away, and Cheltenham racecourse is around 45 minutes by car.
There’s so much to do in this beautiful corner of England: discover the charming Cotswolds villages and towns or set off on walks in every direction. Tetbury is a must-visit for antique lovers, as is Stroud for its weekly farmers’ market that runs every Saturday. Walkers and nature lovers will adore Westonbirt Arboretum, which is a real spectacle in the spring and autumn months. Plus, there are countless National Trust properties and gardens to explore - you simply can’t get bored. Due to the remote nature of the Cotswolds, we would recommend bringing a vehicle for your stay. There is private parking space for two vehicles, with further free parking on the street.
