Beautiful cabin, amazing views, comfortable and “homey”. Our kids (20 months, and 3 years) love the birds nest in this cabin! Lots of toys, games, puzzles, and a Wii! This cabin could stand a regular deep clean possibly monthly or at the very least quarterly. But that is on par with just about every single cabin we have ever booked. Pretty much the only let down was there were only 2 wash cloths in the whole cabin. We had 6 people total, so that was problematic. The only thing unclear at checkout was the paperwork told us to “return key to office” however there was no key. There was a PIN code to get inside. When I called to leave a voicemail to clarify if we needed to return the paperwork with the code to the office, nobody got back to me. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Relaxing, and beautiful.

Our group had an absolute blast during our stay! Matt's home was lovely and accommodated our larger group well. Our group spent lots of time together out on the deck and in the hot tub. Place was clean and in great condition. Lots to do in the area, used the provided suggestions and links from the host to plan our weekend and we had a blast. Our favorite thing was snow tubing at Canaan Valley and going into the town of Thomas for coffee and shopping. Overall, my group and I would definitely journey back to Davis, WV and would love to stay at Matt's home again. P.S. go out at night when it's clear and see a stunning sky full of bright stars.

So… it snowed about 18 inches the weekend we were here. We parked at the “overflow” parking and hiked up. Quarter mile up a steep hill. If I was more experienced driving in the snow (with appropriate tires) we likely could have made it up to the house. The locals seem to do fine. We saw at least 5 cars get pulled stuck or pulled out though. Bring snow chains and know what you are getting into. That’s not really a complaint. We felt well informed on the subject. Just reiterating. Everything else is great. Kids loved the house. Super close to Thomas/Davis/Blackwater Falls.

If you're looking for a location with nice views and lots of local outdoor exploration, look no further. Staying at Firefly Chalet was a lovely experience. The home is beautiful inside and out. Even if the stay is a washout, there are plenty of games, tvs, and room to be entertained! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
