The backyard view and access to the river is what this place is all about. The location is also close enough to Guerneville, the redwoods, and the coast that there is plenty of relaxing or engaging activities to access. The house is incredibly unique and charming but is in need of some maintenance and improved management. There were flies in the house pretty consistently because there aren’t any screened windows or doors. When we first got there we had a ladybug infestation because the previous tenant or someone had left a window open. We got to the house at the 4pm checkin time but unfortunately there was some miscommunication with the cleaners who were just getting started on turning over the house. She was bery apologetic and helped with suggestions of where we could kill some time and get dinner in town, but we had to wait to access the house until 7pm or so. Then with checkout time at 10am it seems a little early too if cleaning isn’t starting before noon. Great place overall!

The home is beautiful. The entire property was very peaceful with multiple spots to hangout. There was plenty of counter space in the kitchen with lots of utensils and everything we needed to cook. My best friend is a chef and was happy to find we even had a Kitchen Aid mixer making our life so much easier. There were a few minor hiccups but we addressed them with the vacation rental company. All and all the house is so unique and the grounds are beautiful.

This place is epic, so many beautiful and unique features. The beds were very comfortable and the tiny AC units in the rooms helped cool off and were much appreciated. Would definitely book again!

We had an amazing stay at the Gatsby house! So many things to love about it: the many places to relax and to socialize, the apple and pear orchard, the dock with canoes & kayaks included, the open and fenced space for our dogs to run around, the hot tub, the ample parking, the beautiful sun room office, the proximity to Monte Rio and Guerneville, and a perfect sized dining and living room among the highlights. September was a great time to be on the river! thank you!

Our family and friends loved the Gatsby home! The house had all the space needed to enjoy together time and personal time on our week vacation. We especially loved the easily accessible dock with the kayaks and canoes and the fabulous kitchen! It was stocked with everything we needed and more! There was a place to sit for every possible occasion, enjoying meals, reading a book, having quiet conversations or chasing our dog around the huge yard! We will definitely be back!
