Sleepy Bear is a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin. Experience the unique beauty and comfort of Sleepy Bear Cabin, a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat nestled in the woods. The main floor of the cabin features a fully stocked kitchen with full-sized appliances, a living room with a recliner and reclining sofa in front of a cozy natural gas fireplace, and a main floor bedroom with a queen size bed and a luxurious whirlpool tub. The bathroom on the main floor is equipped with a four-foot shower with a seat, toilet, pedestal sink, and a stackable washer and dryer. Step outside to find a spacious four-person hot tub and a glider on the front porch, as well as a gas grill off to the side of the cabin. The cabin also has a basement suite with a queen size bed, queen-size sofa sleeper, dining table and chairs, a fully stocked kitchenette, and a bathroom with a four-foot shower with a seat, vanity, and toilet. Access to the basement suite is available for reservations with more than two people, though arrangements can be made for access with fewer than two people. Out in front of the cabin, you'll find a fire pit stocked with firewood and equipped with a tripod for grilling. All of the cabin's furniture is locally hand-made and the cabin itself was built on-site with solid, milled logs by skilled local Amish craftsmen. We loved our stay at the Sleepy Bear Cabin. It was very clean, had everything that we needed to be comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. I also loved the inspiring art on the walls and the Bible on the coffee table. Knowing that Lamar loves God too made me feel right at home. Will definitely stay again and hopefully longer next time.
Pictures do not even do this place justice. From start to finish, my mind was blown away by the quality of the accommodation. This is hands down the cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in and there were so many thoughtful touches around the space. I didn’t realize that this cabin boasts two separate “living spaces”, which made my birthday trip that I shared with my parents and kids even more comfortable. Waking up to a dense fog over the countryside was the most cozy experience to watch rise as I sipped my morning coffee. Very convenient spot to the charming town of Millersburg, which I felt even more excited to explore thanks to the recommendations left by Lamar and his family in the guest welcome guide. I truly hope to return and enjoy this space again.

Our 56-acre property offers secluded and peaceful rental cabins, each separated by 250+ feet of lush woods for ultimate privacy.

Hello, I’m Lamar, I’ve lived in the Holmes County, Ohio area my entire life. I spent my formative years growing up on a dairy farm just outside of Mt. Hope where we milked around 50 cows. In 2006, Dad was forced to sell the farm due to being injured in an incident on the farm. At that point in time, I was first introduced to the world of hospitality when my parents bought a 56-acre property, Tranquil Acres Cabins, where we have rental cabins. For years I observed them running Tranquil Acres, and occasionally helping with projects that my Dad needed help with while working other jobs. In more recent years, I have become increasingly involved in daily operations. In October 2021 my father, Jesse passed away from Covid-19, from that point on, life radically changed and I have been at my Mothers side in the hospitality business, 7 ways a week ever since. The thing I enjoy the most about hospitality is the opportunity to meet great people from other states and even internationally. If there is anything I can do to make your stay better, please let me know! I want to give you a stress-free stay. I (Laticia) too have lived in this area my entire life and with the different travels, my husband and I have realized how unique the area we call home is, and am glad that so many of you have an interest in visiting Holmes County. I have also been involved in hospitality over the years, I worked at a hotel and loved the different aspects involved in hospitality, and am excited to be able to create a space for you to enjoy.
