This Airbnb was one of the coolest places I've ever stayed at. The hosts covered all the basics I look for in an Airbnb and more. It's located in a safe and beautiful area, has parking in a gated area, was clean, had big comfy beds, and the hosts left us so many snacks and toiletries to use. If possible, definitely opt to get a tour of the ranch. So many beautiful horses and so many interesting things to learn about horse care and breeding.

We loved our stay at Rick's place! The location is perfect for touring the little towns of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez and Solvang. Rick gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and the historic Cold Springs Tavern. They have done a wonderful job of decorating, we felt very welcomed and comfortable. They thoughtfully leave all sorts of kitchen and bathroom basics, drinks and snacks....so kind! All the main rooms heat up nicely and the bedroom gets very dark, perfect for a good night's rest. The icing on the cake was walking around the horse stables as the sun was setting. Such an amazing property, we hope to return! Thank you for the generous hospitality :)

Awesome property with decor that was on point (horse themed, appropriately). The hosts were very friendly and generous with their time, chatting and giving us a tour of the working horse farm. My boys loved all horses to see every day. It is also the perfect location close to everything in the area with Solvang right down the road and the Ostrich/Emu farm right across the main road. Rick's Guidebooks recommendations were very useful as well as any other ones we specifically asked them about as they have lived here for multiple decades. My family loved staying here and didn't want to leave (even after we extended the stay longer already).

Absolutely the best stay and experience ever! Would recommend Rick and Buffy’s place to anyone traveling to the area. They were extremely helpful, informative and super friendly. Their home had all the conveniences of being at home. Hands down, the very best on the Central Coast.

Rick and Buffy were wonderful hosts. The Gate House matched the description perfectly and lived up to the reviews online. Rick was out when we arrived and greeted us right away and Buffy appeared shortly thereafter. Buffy showed us inside and provided a quick orientation. There were not only snacks available to us but fruit and food in the fridge as well. The house was equipped with everything you could think of -helpful in case something was forgotten to be packed. House was clean and the bedding comfortable. The grounds were peaceful and very private. Buffy was very kind to provide a tour of the grounds and background of what they did at the farm. Buffy was also entertained us with some wonderful stories and we could have listened to her for hours! The house was situated conveniently to Solvang and surrounding wineries. After our day out, the house was a wonderful place to wind down and get some good rest. We would gladly return and stay there again.
