Traditional stone built cosy cottage in Wensleydale the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Kellar Cottage was built in 1705 and is a cosy old fashioned stone cottage. It has traditional beam and board ceilings and a stone staircase. There is a woodburner in the living room. The courtyard has a table and chairs and has dry stone walls. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms one with a king sized bed and a small second bedroom with a bunk bed suitable for children, as well as the bathroom with shower over the bath.
Keller Cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. Jo had made a lovely and welcoming home with great facilities, comfy beds, and great touches. Enjoyed seeing the pictures of the chickens who lay the eggs! Was easy to find and Jo’s instructions and location of keys was incredibly easy. West witton itself is a lovely quiet village with two great pubs and perfectly located for walks around the countryside and waterfalls. A great stay and would visit again.
Such a lovely place to stay. We really appreciated all the gifts on arrival and how well thought out the whole cottage is. It really is a cosy cottage in a beautiful place to explore. Thank you!
We loved our trip during the Easter break, thoughtful extras such as home baked bread and cookies really elevated this cosy and comfortable stay. Jo and Tim were incredibly responsive and flexible with our check in due to unexpected car troubles, and clearly put a lot into making this a great base to stay in a lovely area. Many thanks! 😊
A lovely cosy cottage, perfect for us to explore the local areas. Master bedroom is so cosy and everywhere nice and clean..lots of things available in the kitchen saved me taking it with me, eggs for breakfast, a loaf of bread, milk, tea bags and some homemade cookies. Kids were made up . Thanks Jo x
West Witton is a pretty village in the Yorkshire Dales national park. There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep. If it’s a special occasion there is The Wensleydale Heifer, where James Herriot spent time, now a high end seafood restaurant that’s just a 1 minute stroll away, or if it’s some delicious pub grub by a cosy fire in a 15th century pub, The Fox and Hounds is also a short walk down the road. Leyburn is a short drive away for provisions, and has a market on Friday mornings. West Witton is a great base for exploring the Dales, with West Burton, Aysgarth falls, Askrigg, Bainbridge, Hardraw Force and Hawes all within easy reach.
Bus service to Hawes and Leyburn.
Plenty of free street parking is available.
