Fantastisk vennlig og hyggelig vertskap! Ikke perfekt engelskkunnskap, men kommuniserte greit. God service, kjørte oss til sentrum med sin Tuktuk. God frokost! Beliggenhet litt utenfor sentrum av Ella, ca 10 min med Tuktuk, evt 20-30 min å gå. Til gjengjeld enestående utsikt og omgivelser å våkne til! Vakkert. Store og luftige rom, god plass, veldig gode senger. Det som trekker litt ned er at det tilsynelatende var muggsopp på noen av rommene i første etasje.

The villa was beautiful! Waking up to the beautiful views and waterfall in the distance was a dream. The host and everyone was extremely helpful and kind as well. Also they had very cute dogs. :) it was a great spot for relaxing and not too far from town, only a 700 ruppee ride away. And there was plenty of space for our group of 10, everyone had their own bed. The downsides were that the wifi didn’t really work, and it was a bit hard to get to the place — you have to walk down a narrow ledge and up steep stairs, so it’s not very accessible if you maybe have a disability. But the staff was great and guided us and helped with bags. So we didn’t have an issue really.

Mr Thilak is brilliant. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay, including making a birthday cake for a celebration we had planned in Ella! Each morning he would pick a flower for my partners hair for breakfast, which happens to be fantastic - fresh fruit, toast, roti and a different veg curry each day whilst you gorge with a full view of the waterfall. Not a super easy place to find but as long as you are on waterfall road it is signposted as Cascade Valley. Maybe a 15 min walk from the centre. You can walk on the railway track to the station very quick, or off to the waterfall or Ella Rock the other way. Basic room (no AC) but has a hot shower. The nights are cool in Ella so no need for AC anyways. Thanks Thilak :)

Wir haben uns sehr über die Gastfreundlichkeit von Jack gefreut. Er war zu jeder Frage die wir hatten unglaublich hilfsbereit und wenn er mal nicht da war, hat uns seine ganze Familie immer weitergeholfen. Man hatte bei ihm nie das Gefühl, „nur ein Gast“ zu sein sondern viel mehr Teil seines kleinem Universums in Ella - in dem er jede einheimische Person kennt und zusätzlich hilfreiche Tipps geben kann. Auch wenn sein Englisch nicht so einwandfrei ist wie das eines anderen Hosts, kann man sich sonst on point mit ihm per Hand und Fuß verständigen. Sollten wir wieder nach Sri Lanka kommen, schauen wir definitiv im Cascade Valley wieder vorbei!
