We would definitely recommend Akatara to anyone staying on Nusa Penida. It was the perfect base for us to stay after we explored the island. The host is easy to contact and the staff were all very friendly and super helpful, arranging tours of the island and snorkelling trips for us, as well we helping us out with lifts to the boat port. Everything was clean and when our safe didn’t work, the staff were instantaneous in fixing this to ensure we could use this. They couldn’t do enough for us and the place is really lovely and relaxing whilst still giving you walkable access to restaurants, beach clubs and shops.

The place was close to Harbor. But Not so much cafes around. The hotel was pretty good. It is called Akatara Hotel. Place is lovely. Just you dont have much to do in night at nearby places.

Het is een matig hotel, met matige service. Het bed is goed en de handdoeken schoon, maar en ontbreekt verder veel in de kamer. Lampen kapot, grote vlekken op de muren, de douchekop die alle kanten op spuit behalve de goede. Onze wasbak was kapot, de buitendeuren konden niet dicht ect. De medewerkers spreken praktisch geen Engels. Als je bij hun een scooter huurt moet je zelf nog tanken. Grootste afknapper voor ons was dat ze 100k vroegen om ons naar de haven te brengen wat 3 minuten met de auto is maar lopend slecht begaanbaar. Uiteindelijk wilde ze ons brengen als service en leek de driver ons expres op een verkeerde plek te zetten waardoor we alsnog moesten lopen. Als je een goedkope oplossing wil en weinig in het hotel gaat zijn een prima keuze, maar voor een vakantie gevoel raden wij aan naar een betere plek te gaan.

Easy to find the location close to the harbour. Staff helped with the taxi and fast boat booking to Sanur.
