Enjoy the warmth and comfort of your own private suite with its own private entry. This retreat is “nested” amongst beautiful birch trees with glorious 10 mile mountain views. The Nest has its own keypad entry from the garden. Welcome to our house on a hill, designed by a prominent Vermont architect, with a private suite on the 2nd floor of the east wing of the house, with your own keypad entry. This location is so private that to see a neighbor's house you'll need binoculars (we have those available to borrow if you like). This guest suite was built recently and finished to a very high standard. It has four large windows, a brand new queen bed, comfy sofa that folds out to a full size bed, good lights, an artisanal wooden round table and 2 chairs perfect for dining, playing games, or working remotely. The suite also features a mini fridge/freezer and microwave, perfect for warming up a frozen meal, a cup of hot cocoa or making popcorn and snuggle up to binge your favorite show on the SmartTV. Additionally there is a drip coffee maker and a Nespresso to make sure you’re up and energized for all that Southern Vermont has to offer. The ensuite bathroom (completely private of course) has a walk-in shower with strong water flow and nice toiletries. It even has a window with a birch tree and mountain view. Your suite has a Bluetooth Bose speaker to enjoy your own music. Play what you like and as loud as you wish - you have no neighbors. There is a small fridge in your suite and a microwave plus a coffee machine and Nespresso. While there is no kitchen, there are many great restaurants right in the area and we'll be happy to describe them for you and help you choose.
Great place, very clean.Would definitely stay again. Edward, the host, gave us some great places to go for live music, and some good food suggestions. We really enjoyed the Nest.
We had a great stay at the nest! It was absolutely beautiful and Edward was very helpful with things to do and local food recommendations! The only thing we disliked was the hot water in the shower barely lasted 4 minutes, but everything else was great!
Really enjoyed our stay at the nest. Small, cozy and beautiful inside and out. Large property for exploring and breathtaking views of the mountains and birch trees. Apartment was fully stocked, including yummy snacks and local beers. Edward was he very easy to communicate and eager to offer suggestions. Hosts went above and beyond. The apartment is located in close very close proximity to downtown Wilmington. Our one regret was not bringing sleds! Come the end of our trip, we truly did not want to leave!
We’re only a mile from the heart of downtown Wilmington (with all its charming shops, great restaurants, and newly open dispensary and fantastic brewery). The property feels remote and peaceful as we have six acres of hillside land with 10 mile mountain views out every window and no visible neighbors. Enjoy walking or snowshoeing our land, reading a book by the pond, or making your own picnic lunch (or a sunset cocktail) in the upper pasture.
There are many activities nearby ranging from games (candlepin bowling, miniature golf, and Escape Room) to water sports (jet ski, boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals at Harriman Reservoir - VT’s 2nd largest lake), to snowmobiling, snow tubing and of course skiing. The area also hosts many great events throughout the year from concert series to festivals to downtown block parties. No matter the time of year, there’s plenty of fun to be found.
We are in the heart of the the action but you do need a car (especially 4-wheel drive in the winter) to enjoy all the area has to see and do. We are conveniently located 1 mile from downtown Wilmington’s charming shops and restaurants, Mt Snow Ski area is just 6 miles away and Stratton Mountain is only 15 miles away. In the summer/fall you can enjoy a short 1 mile drive to the peaceful Lake Raponda or a quick 4 mile scoot for boating or jet ski fun at Harriman Reservoir. Take an afternoon trip to Brattleboro (only 25 mins away) to visit the many wonderful art galleries, get a Sour Beer at Hermit Thrush Brewery, or take a private pottery class.
自我介绍
We are a married couple (no kids) who lived in NYC for over 20 years but fell in love with all that southern Vermont has to offer year-round. With nearly two decades working for Martha Stewart, we understand the “good things” and little touches that make travelers’ space feel like a home away from home. We look forward to welcoming you to our private guest apartment (The Nest) and to help you discover the exciting activities, local artisans, craft cuisines, and ever-changing natural beauty of this area. Perhaps you’ll fall in love with the Green Mountains and Vermont as much as we did.
