Alright stay.

Had no problems with my stay. The host is easy to get hold off even though he doesn’t live there. Only downside was that pics of the bathroom were not accurate and air vents in the house were quite clogged up with the buildup. And there was no mention of me sharing the place with 4 other roommates which came as a surprise. All using the same restroom and common spaces. It’s more of a dorm setting which came as a huge surprise to me.

I met Michael. He was very quiet, and kind. checking in he was helpful and responded quickly.. would stay again.

Mediocre at best. I'm usually very generous (and brief) with my reviews, and most of the time I give 4 or 5 stars and just tell the owner privately what needs changed. But this time I feel compelled to be brutally honest. If you're looking for a place to crash for a night and you don't care too much about the condition of the place, this space will be adequate. But you won't get that "wow" feeling about anything here. Overall it feels like a couple college dudes bought an old house, cleaned it a LITTLE, then rented out the rooms. I will avoid staying here again in the future. Specific ratings: 5: Comfy bed. Room 2 has a nice memory foam bed in it and it's comfortable. I had a great night sleep and the bed was the main reason why. 4+: Quiet neighborhood. Very little traffic or outside noise, no dogs barking, etc. Expect to get a good nights rest here. 4: Room 2 had amble desk space to get some work done on my laptop. What would have made it a 5? Extension cord and a desk lamp. Room lighting wasn't really enough to give me great 5-star lighting. 4: Decent parking. One long driveway with a wider space in front of the garage. 3: All doors had individual locks on them. Although the doors were flimsy, there was some security knowing I could lock the doors. 3: Kitchen looked "OK". There were multiple appliances (coffee, toaster, etc.), and overall it had a "straightened up" look, but I didn't get that "sparkling clean" vibe at all. 2: No noise cancelation. Hardwood floors with almost no decoration on the walls anywhere make this a noisy place. You'll hear everything people are saying in the next room including the guy yelling and cussing about the sports game on the TV in the room next door. Bring ear plugs. 2: Entrance/Greeting: Bizarre. I walked in, some guy is working in the kitchen. I ask if he's "Michael". "No, Michael lives in Chicago, I just run the place for him", then he puts his headphones back on and gets back to doing whatever he is doing in the kitchen. Four hours later, and the dude is STILL in the kitchen scrubbing things in the sink. Nobody was mean or unpleasant, but there was no warm welcome at all. 2-: Vibe: I would add that the entire place felt a little "creepy", and I imagined if my wife or female relatives were wanting to stay here, I would not recommend it. 1: Smelly / musty. "No pets allowed", yet it had that "a pet has been here" smell. My allergies blew up when I arrived, and stayed flared up until I left the next morning. While on the phone with my wife after being there only 30 minutes, she asked if I was coming down with a cold. No dear, I just can't breathe easily here. If you're sensitive to musty old smells, you'll have a tough time here. Summary: I won't be back unless there is a massive overhaul.
