Newport house, which was once known as The Guildhall, is a property of significant historic importance. Home to Lord Newport in the 17th Century, followed by the Earl of Bradford and later in the 18th Century the Earls of Darlington, Newport House has been a seat of influence over the surrounding area for many centuries. Our beautiful home sits in the discreet and exclusive courtyard to the immediate right of this important and grand property. The house is located in centre of the historic town of Shrewsbury with its quaint back streets, independent shops and a huge abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit all tastes,. Shrewsbury has over 660 listed buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. A short walk along the river you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks or have a picnic. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower. We are not far from Theatre Severn.

Newport House is right in the centre of town, just back from the main frontages so you will be sheltered from most central street hubbub.
There is parking for one medium size car only, which is safely behind electric gates. As you are central to town, you can leave your car and enjoy all the pleasures of the town.
If you do drive round Shrewsbury town, please be aware of the one way system so you can only approach the property from the west, so please drive slowly when getting close so you do not miss the entrance turning. Also, the main high street is pedestrianised from 11am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday so you may have to do a slightly wider lap of the town to get back to the property.
There are lots of fabulous market towns close to Shrewsbury.
Church Stretton, a walkers paradise in the Shropshire Hills, is 20 minutes away. Ludlow, a beautiful historic market town just under an hour's drive away.
