I stayed at Ruben`s place for few days after the season. It was really great! This place is really lovely, situated in a walking distance from the town and the beach plus there are bikes to use for guests! You can agree for breakfast and/or dinner which i highly recommend as the cook, Nisala, is amazing, all what i tried there was absolutely delicious! It's like a little paradise with charming houses among palm trees and colorful hamacks, highly recommended!

Staying at Rubens place was great! I was welcomed very kindely by Ruben and his staff. Everybody made sure I had an awesome time. Whenever in need of anything (TukTuk rides, organizing daytrips, going out for dinner, etc.) Ruben never hesitated to help and arrange the requested things. I also did my 9h kite course with Ruben and his kiteschool, which I really loved. The cabana I stayed in is wonderful. It i airy, so you always get a nice and fresh breeze during the night, so you will always have a nice sleep. Breakfast and dinner where delicious!! Everyday there was something different for dinner, mainly typical sri lankan food, like rice and curry or kotthu. Ruben really created a little oasis of happiness and a place to relax and calm down in the midde of a still very rural and authentic sri lankan place. I am already planning my return to this wonderful place. Thank you Ruben! :-)
¡Nos hemos encontrado muy agusto en la casa de Ruben! Las habitaciones son espaciosas y limpias. También dispone de cocina y nevera. El lugar de Ruben se llama "Margarita village" y además de la casa donde hemos estado, hay 4 chalets mas de madera muy bonitos y un restaurante. Todo el lugar es muy bonito y el ambiente muy bueno. ¡Lo recomendamos totalmente!
Ruben is a great, friendly and very accomodating host. He keeps his village small and charming. Ruben helped us with the information we needed and arranged all trips and transfers for us. Would recommend to stay there.

Hello, I am Rubén, a Spanish guy and I have been living in Sri Lanka for 5 years. After long time I have fulfilled my dream to manage my own kite school called Margarita Village kalpitiya. I like to treat my hosts as a friends and the more time I can spend with them in the waterdoing kite, the more happy I feel. I like to teach, to do downwinds and to explore new kite spots From the first time I arrived in this country I was amazed and that's why I decided to stay. What I like most about here is the kindness of the local people and their lifestyle too. I am also passionate about nature, so in Kalpitiya I find almost everything I like to do. In addition to hosting my guests, I organize trips around the island and in my free time I give English classes to the children in the neighborhood. I also love to travel the island on a motorcycle in search of places yet to be discovered. I decided to come to Sri Lanka because I felt very unhappy with my last job in Spain and here I could find many opportunities. Now I travel once per year to Spain when it is off season, so I can visit my family and friends
