Not only the perfect base for exploring Snowdonia but also the most wonderful location for relaxing and looking out over the mountains you’ve just conquered.
Fantastic location for a family gathering, age range from 6-67! En suite rooms and ample kitchen equipment and space allowed everyone to cater for their individual needs. Stunning garden and surroundings to enjoy views.
We didn’t meet Danielle but she was very responsive and friendly on message. The instructions to guide us too the house were very clear, the view from the house is amazing, the rooms were clean and we were able to check in earlier / check out later. The only downfall with the property is that I was not aware that they live in the same building (different entrances). Would 100% recommend. Cheers Danielle.
We had a superb stay at Bryn Llydan over Christmas. Danielle was extremely quick, helpful and friendly in responding to questions ahead of the stay, and when we got there the house was fantastic - the pictures really didn't do it justice! There was ample room for all 14 of us and it was great that all of the rooms had en suite bathrooms. It was immaculately clean and well stocked with big pans for feeding a large group of people, and there was ample fridge space. It was also perfect for a dog as it was tiled throughout. The outside spaces were fantastic! Unfortunately it was pretty wet for our stay but if you came in the summer there was a BBQ and lovely outside seating as well as plenty of walking options from the house. We'd thoroughly recommend Bryn Llydan for any other big group looking for a break in a great house and in stunning surroundings.
You will find Bryn Llydan at the end of a quiet lane positioned in a secluded spot above the villages of Garreg and Llanfrothen. The location offers ‘the best of both worlds’ with a peaceful and remote ‘off the beaten track’ feel whilst being only 15 minutes drive from the popular harbour town of Porthmadog with its shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and takeaways. The local pub, Brondanw Arms, can be reached in just a few minutes by car as can the charming village shop and cafe, Y Garreg Shop & Kitchen.
Just west is Penrhyndeudraeth (5 minute drive), home to the much loved Portmeirion village along with a kebab shop, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway and several cafes/restaurants (including The Eating Gorilla, a fabulous vegan cafe).
Slightly further afield is Porthmadog (15 minute drive) with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from as well as several supermarkets for supplies (Tesco, Aldi and Lidl). Here you will also find your nearest beach, Black Rock Sands (20 minute drive). An expansive sandy beach backed by sand dunes, affording some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Llyn Peninsula.
The picturesque village of Beddgelert is a fifteen minute drive from Bryn Llydan where you will find several delightful pubs and cafes, a vast array of lovely walks from gentle to extremely challenging and some of the best ice cream in Wales at Glaslyn. Beddgelert is also home to the Sygun Copper Mine and Beddgelert forest with lots of options for walking and cycling trails in a glorious setting.
Several of the starting points for hiking Snowdon are within easy reach, with the start of Ranger and Watkin paths less than half an hour’s drive and Llanberis itself a stunning 45 minute drive away. Although Snowdon may be the best known, there are a huge array of lesser known, but just as glorious mountain walks in easy reach, including Cadair Idris near the village of Dolgellau forty minutes south.
Bryn Llydan is perfectly located to experience the full spectrum of activities that Snowdonia has to offer, with beaches, lakes, mountain bike trails, Zipworld locations, and so much more all within a 30-40 minute drive. Whether you are looking for an all out adrenaline activity break, a peaceful retreat in the countryside, or anything in between, you will find exactly what you are looking for at. Bryn Llydan.
Bryn Llydan is located at the end of a narrow lane in a rural location so a vehicle is essential for exploring.
