Truly awful. We left after 1 night and would have gone earlier if we hadn’t arrived late. Never complained about a property before, and we own 3 rental properties ourselves, so know this from both sides. Most worryingly, our 8 year old son received a strong electric shock from a faulty mains socket. The property is not as described - the pool is overlooked by the owners’ property, not the one being rented. The house was extremely dirty - food dried onto utensils, crumbs in drawers, dog fur on the scissors, toenails on the sofas, beer bottle tops and cigarette ends everywhere outside. Very dusty. Broken flooring with large holes around the pool and pathways. People randomly came and went, and didn’t close the gates to the busy main road outside. We found the housekeeper and maintenance man wandering around the house without even telling us (we were there). House is very damp - mould on ceilings and mouldy placemats. Dishwasher wouldn’t work at all (owner has known it was a problem since at least Sept 2021). Oven is ancient and hardly heats up. BBQ had never been cleaned or ashes removed - we could see what the previous users had been cooking! Baths heavily stained. Carpets stained badly. Boiler shows signs of needing attention (soot marks up front) and no carbon monoxide detectors even! Overloaded sockets, and several with burn marks - we were worried about using them given all these problems. Broken outdoor furniture. Pool a good size but cannot be seen from the house you would be renting. Pool area dirty, not swept and resulted in detritus getting into the pool unavoidably. WIFI was non-existent except at 10pm on the first night when I managed to get a speedtest.com reading of under 3mbps, which is impractical for everything. Property is entirely overlooked by owners’ wing and so is the shared courtyard - no privacy if it is occupied. Even the upper floor (ie bedrooms) are overlooked by where the cleaner etc park their cars, and the main road. Our feeling was that the owners spend as little as possible on the property and don’t oversee the work done by their local agent or cleaners sufficiently. We don’t make this complaint lightly, and everything is backed up by photos. Our complaint was supported in full by AirBnB, we were given compensation and we have since moved to another property nearby which is practically the same price but a million times better.

Reservamos a Quinta do Bóco para 7 adultos mais um bebé e tivemos as condições necessárias para passarmos 4 dias bastante tranquilos. Ideal para um grupo de amigos ou famílias que queiram usufruir dum espaço com um amplo jardim e uma piscina que recebe os raios de Sol nas horas de maior calor. A anfitriã foi muito amável e simpática.
