The Cabin is cosy and comfortable. The cabin offers stunning Mountain view across the south of Iceland (Mt Hekla). Surrounded by a small forest, framed by a famous fishing river which runs next to the cabin. NORTHERN LIGHTS shimmer on clear nights during the winter. There is a fully equipped kitchen, gas Barbeque, a fireplace, and a Jacuzzi with hydromassage. There are inside and outside showers and a upstairs lounge with a Smart TV incl. streaming services. The Cabin is situated in a quiet and secluded place. It offers a open kitchen, dinner table and living room with a fireplace. The bedrooms are in the back with an option of an upstairs sleeping sofa. There is a storage room for the washing maschine, where loundry can be hung and an extra fridge to store drinks. There is an upstairs TV lounge with Smart TV with many viewing option. Surrounding the Cabin is a big Terrasse with mountain view. In the Winter on most clear nights there are shimmering NORTHERN LIGHTS to be seen. Out back there is a whirlpool with an outside (cold) shower. Inside there is additional shower as well as a fully equipped bathroom. The water in the Cabin comes directly from a well on the property. The famous fishing river Ytri Ranga runs along the property at the distance of about 100 meters. On the Terrasse there is a weightlifting rack and weights for personal training. LUKKA is the perfect place to recharge, relax, explore. And then at the end of the day enjoying the hot tub or a glass of wine and Barbeque on the patio.

Thorleifur's place is quiet, peaceful and a home away from home. It has a well equipped kitchen, a great log burner for a cosy night and a fantastic hot tub for soaking and watching the northern lights. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights two nights during our stay! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cosy, remote, cabin experience!

Das ist wunderschön und einer fantastischen Umgebung! Man konnte gut die Nordlichter sehen. Es ist super ausgestattet und hat alles was es braucht. Ein super Whirlpool! Kann das Haus sehr empfehlen!!

Thors place is amazing - we were lucky enough to see the lights every night in the peaceful and isolated cabin. The cabin feels cosy and lived in, we didn’t use the hot tub but it is definitely there! The jigsaw puzzles were missing pieces and had some pieces painted over… so I’d avoid those! But aside from that we had a great time. I’d really recommend stopping off and doing a shop before you arrive as the nearest shop is about an hour away. Unfortunately there aren’t rubbish bags or anything supplied, so bring those! Also, get wood from a hardware store! If you’re after a peaceful retreat and don’t mind driving, book this place!

Thor was a wonderful host and gave us great traveling tips! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at his adorable cottage with breathtaking views! The hot tub was the perfect way to wind down after sightseeing. We saw the northern lights 3 nights out of the four nights we were there. Most importantly, we felt like we had a true Icelandic experience! Beautiful home and amazing host!

The house is located nea Mount Hekla and in the vacinity there are some wonderful hiking trails, such as Landmannalaugar, Burfell and Þjórsárdalur. Close to the Icelandic highlands and some of Iceland's greatest natural attractions such as Seljalandsfoss, Skogar, Þórsmörk.

出行信息

The house is on private land so there is free parking. There is also the possibility of charging an electric vehicle. Please do not drive up to the house itself but park on the gravel in front of the drive in towards house.
Notice: During the winter months (November to March) you will need a 4 x 4 car. Preferably a jeep.
