Lisa was a great host and the property was exactly what we needed for our weekend stay!
This property was perfect for our short stay in Albuquerque. It was very comfortable and matched the description perfectly. It was decorated in a fashion that makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend this property and will absolutely try to book here again on our next trip to Albuquerque.
Lisa was very responsive and even refunded a portion of our stay because of an unplanned need to check out a day early. The only complaint I have is that it was very difficult to get the house warm. I was traveling with my 80-year-old mom who is perpetually cold. Fortunately the tub was nice and the water was warm enough so she was able to get warm before bed. The appliances were nice and the place had good books. Plenty of linens and definitely dog friendly, though we left ours at home. Truly felt like a rustic cabin- close to downtown and to the Rio Grande Nature Park. We somehow actually heard the Sandhill cranes. The I-40 traffic is loud on the south side of the house but impossible to hear inside. The beds were nice, especially if you have kids. Didn’t love the plastic mattress covers but they make sense for youngsters. The place is well set up for a young family. Don’t forget to take coffee. There were basics in the cupboard (e.g. sugar). Would recommend
Lisa is an extremely gracious and responsive host! Her cozy and vintage cabin was perfect for myself and two companions. We we close to everything we needed, especially coffee shops and restaurants. The cabin made us all feel right at home. The space was just right for the three of us, but can hold more for sure. Love the vintage feel of the rough cut wood in the ceiling and the old tub in the bathroom. Don't worry, there is plenty of water pressure and hot water, as well as all the modern conveniences you need! Would definitely return if going back to Albuquerque! Thanks Lisa! Our home is in a diverse community in the heart of Albuquerque known as the Near North Valley.
The house is in a quiet, working-class neighborhood (note: if you desire to stay in a ritzy area, consider booking elsewhere) with direct access to nature trails along a historic, agricultural acequia. There’s also a large, grassy park — great for dogs and the whole family!
Neighborhood activities include: Native American dances and demonstrations, hiking, bicycling, in-line skating, bird watching, and more.
Those staying during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta are often treated to hot-air balloons passing directly over the house — so close that you can wave and say good morning to the pilots and passengers above!
This multigenerational area has low crime rates, but please be mindful of your surroundings just as you would in any other urban neighborhood.
The house has easy freeway access — it's one mile from the I-25/I-40 freeway intersection. The Albuquerque International Sunport (aka airport) is an 8-mile, 12-minute drive.
Albuquerque isn't known for being a super-walkable city. The buses here can be sketchy and unsafe, so you're better off taking Lyft/Uber or renting a car. If you're planning to do a lot of sightseeing, car rental is likely your best bet.
Planning a Santa Fe trip but don't want to drive? The Rail Runner Express train can get you there and back.
