Enjoy the feel of the country while being a short 5 minute walk from the center of Watkinsville. Come relax on the screen porch of this charming historic property that dates from 1840 and listen to the Barred owls hoot from the trees. The room is tastefully decorated with a mix of antique and modern pieces and the queen bed is made up with high quality linens. Parking on premises and private entry. We have a historic home in downtown Watkinsville whose original part was built in the 1840’s. There are large gardens around the house and guests will enjoy exclusive use of the screened porch while staying with us. The room has been freshly painted and is furnished with a queen sized bed done up in quality all cotton sheeting. The furniture is a mix of modern and antique pieces. The bathroom has been redone recently and has beautiful cement tile on the floor and porcelain tile surround in the shower. In the entrance vestibule you will find a mini fridge and a coffee maker that can make single serve cups as well as provide hot water for tea. Guests are welcome to use the workout equipment in the room and may even want to take a yoga mat to the porch for their morning practice. Light blocking Roman shades will ensure you get a good nights rest. We hope you enjoy this space as much as we do.

We loved our stay at Susanna and Sam's AirBnb! The room was beautifully decorated and was both charming and comfortable. It had everything we needed - a comfortable bed, a comfortable chair, a desk, a bureau, TV, and a closet with hangers. It also had a great bathroom and little entrance area with fridge and coffee area. The screened-in porch right off the bedroom area was lovely and a peaceful way to start the day enjoying their garden. As the description indicated, the entrance to the guest suite was private, which was great since we were very late arriving on our first night (which Susanna accommodated beautifully). We were spending most of our stay in Athens visiting our UGa son but the 15 minute drive to Watkinsville was extremely easy. My husband also enjoyed walking into town one morning for breakfast. This was a lovely place and we look forward to coming back on our next visit to Athens. We highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay in this perfect little retreat, which was convenient to Athens for our game day weekend! Susanna was a great host and was responsive and accommodating to all of our needs. The space is quiet, clean, and well appointed and the beautiful backyard, garden, and screened porch were an added bonus! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Second stay here and will definitely continue to come! Place is awesome and minutes from Athens and right in the middle of Watkinsville.

We are located in a designated historic district and most of the surrounding homes are at least 100 years old. The location is easy walking distance to downtown Watkinsville and it’s shops and eateries.
We also have several good road biking routes that can be accessed from our location. Great mountain biking can be found at Hard Labor State Park which is about a 20-25 minute drive away.
The campus of UGA is also about 20 minimum away and the closest in-town neighborhood of Five Points is only about 10 minutes away.
While we are located on a busy street, the guest suite is all the way in the back of the house and very quiet.
Walking is the best way to access the town of Watkinsville. Getting in to Athens requires a car or an Uber. We have off street parking at the house.

While I have been using AirBnB as a traveler for many years, my family and I have recently decided to make our guest suite available on the platform for the first time this fall. I am a garden designer by trade and use my own gardens as a lab to experiment with things before I recommend them to clients. I have also worked in interior design and creating beautiful spaces is a passion. My husband and I love to travel internationally and we speak English, French and Spanish.
