I am from England and enjoy travel, particularly in Italy. I am now retired after 50 years as a court advocate lawyer, with a 2nd career as operatic and lieder tenor. I love opera, ballet, theatre, reading, cooking, walking, exploring, museums, notable buildings and conversation. My late wife was a teacher of English. We were lucky to enjoy the same things; our lives were filled with music, talk and company and mine still is but for me, now, alone. Our place in Italy was chosen and furnished for us as our 2nd home for several visits each year. I am now there for up to 3 months yearly. The apartment is not an also ran tired cheap fix holiday home. It is tastefully furnished with love and care and kept like that. It is my 2nd home ad has been for 17 years. It invites you to sit, relax and enjoy it however much and whatever you do. We are fortunate to have help from a lovely lady who lives 50 from me, in Breglia village It is a paradise: - mountains, views of Lake Como, beautiful scenery, warm,. friendly people and of course the food. f you drink wine the Italian varieties are amongst the best in the world as are the cheeses, hams and salumi, especially those from the local mountain farms. My wife and I did airbnb for about 8 years. We loved the diversity of our guests. Many left enthusiastic reviews, still to be seen on the site. For a few years after my wife's death I backed away but am now back as host for the forseeable future. In the apartment I have hung some more, beautiful paintings, the apartment is almost a private gallery. I have improved the listed airbnb directions to the apartment, have installed a key safe, new locks to make the terrace porte finestre an easy entrance/exit. Internally there are now fire and gas alarms, extinguisher, bathroom grab handles . I have left a detailed 'guide and instruction' book on the coffee table. acilities. There are plenty of published guides on Como and the Italian Lakes (on bookshelves). I have kept my rates realistic, attractive and good value. The location offers a marvellous mix between mountains, the beautiful lake. lakeside towns, lake ferry activities, high end culture, indoor and outdoor concerts , fashion and high-end shopping in Como (22km). Milan (85km by car, train, bus) has il Teatro alla Scala for the very best in opera and ballet, the highest chic in ladies' couture, restaurants which challenge the best in the world. Lake Como, its neigbouring villages and activities, put Breglia and my apartment onto the A list for a varied holiday: slop around or dress up and hit the lights.
