Experience our unique hand crafted home, built using recycled stone, straw bales, local timber and a whole lot of creativity and helping hands. Enjoy conversation with your hosts and other guests, stunning vistas, gardens, loch and sea swims, abundant nature and a vibrant community. You have the option to join us for delicious meals with home baked bread, vegetables from the garden and croft reared lamb. This is the home of an artist and a master carpenter. Every aspect of the build and interior is hand crafted: from willow towel rails to stairways carved from our own sycamore and Ash. We have a custom built, wood fired hot tub which is wonderful for deep relaxation and available for guest use. Our home also serves as a gallery where you can live alongside, contemplate and purchase Sarah Campbell artworks and Mogwaii Design interiors. We also play and enjoy music and welcome musicians to our home. We have a dedicated music space with a grand piano, drumkit and a number of instruments which you are welcome to play. We have a conservatory surrounded by vibrant greenery which serves as a great quiet space to contemplate and be still. We have a sitting room (snug) with a Morso stove, projector and screen where we often congregate of an evening to watch films, read, make things or just chat. Beyond the kitchen is a library room with a floor to ceiling arched window boasting views of the flower garden, the sea and the Isle of Mull. We have a downstairs bathroom with a large bath and an upstairs toilet with a walk in shower. We also have a compost toilet and a utility room. The kitchen/diner is large with a big farmhouse table and comfy seating area. It really is the hub of the house with communal cooking, plenty discussions and lots of laughs. The kitchen has patio doors leading out to an L shaped deck and beech pebble courtyard which has a small fire pit and wooden stools for outdoor gatherings. The flower garden is a good size and leads through to a large kitchen garden and polytunnel. We also have a hammock which guests are welcome to enjoy.
Wonderful beginning to end. The whole artist vibe was inspiring. I chose to take all my meals there which were delicious. Cozy comfortable bed and all the lounge areas inviting. Very friendly atmosphere! I would hope to return one day
Sarah & Yorick, were wonderful hosts. They make you feel right at home, are very welcoming, warm and relaxed. Their home is a wonderful, calm and very relaxed environment. With home cooked food every evening, a grand piano, wood burner and lots of enjoyable conversation. I felt at home and very welcomed from the moment I arrived. They are situated in a most peaceful and stunning part of Isle of Lismore. If you are planning to view Lismore, I would highly recommend staying with Sarah & Yorick for at least a couple of days.
I had a wonderful stay in Sarah’s lovely home. She and Yorick were friendly and hospitable. I will definitely go back one day. Thank you Sarah.
Sarah and Yurick were fantastic hosts. The food they provided was delicious and the home was peaceful and cozy. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Lismore is a vibrant and friendly community of around 180 people. Everyone knows everyone and it is the kind of place where folk just pop by.
It has one well stocked shop and a great museum and cafe ( with museum shop).
There are numerous fabulous trails on the island and spectacular views in every direction of mountains, sea and ever changing skies.
There are three lochs (all great for swimming), and various places where you can go for a sea dip. The beaches are pebbly and there are lots of stunning secluded coves.
The wildflower and wildlife on the island is abundant with Eagles (golden and sea), red kites, buzzards, falcons, otters, seals and deer and so much more.
The history of the island is rich and varied with a museum that boasts a great collection of finds. The island also has a beautiful church, two castles and a Pictish broch.
There is no pub on the island but plenty of opportunities to gather such as regular ceilidhs, dances and concerts. There are also regular island activities which you are welcome to join such as badminton and the community choir which is run by Sarah, your host.
The Isle of Lismore is small enough to explore on foot or with bikes hired from Lismore Bike Hire.
You can however, bring your car onto the island and we have space to park up.
If you are coming via Appin let us know which boat you'll be on and we can possibly pick you up.
