Fantastic place to be in nature and stay in a cozy red rattler carriage fitted out to be very homely. Lovely to hang out on the deck and listen to the birds. Our son loved finding food growing he could eat - enjoyed the plums, carrots, peaches and nectarines. Enjoyed being off grid and the farm will only become more beautiful over time as trees grow bigger. Hope to visit again in future.

This place is a slice of heaven. Beautiful accommodation and views and night skies to match. Winner all around, would definitely come back to enjoy the peace and quiet. Having an outdoor fire was a definite bonus. Lots of hikes and bush walks to do and plenty to wineries sample.

It’s definitely rustic and off-grid, but we were happy for that. Bed was comfy. Fridge, BBQ, full kitchen - all good. The kid’s loved it (4 and 8). Probably weren’t as many walking tracks or picnic spots suitable for small kids as we might had hoped. But roasting marshmallows under a star soaked sky - that’s pretty great.

Great spot to get away from the rat race and what a thrill to stay in a converted train carriage. Lots of space inside and out to relax and enjoy the countryside. Fiona and Paul were happy for us to explore their land and check out the animals. Fiona left us some turkey and duck eggs as well as other breakfast items. The double bed is very comfy. Definitely worth the trip and our teenage boys didn't miss wi-fi for a few days!

A unique and tranquil country escape. There are so many things that make ‘Avaspel’ a trip you won’t forget. From star gazing at night with wines next to the fire, to napping in the hammock on the deck during the day followed by a relaxing book by the indoor fire topped off with unforgettable views at the top of the property. Fresh air, relaxing animal whispers and green tree filled hills as far as the eye can see. Communication was a dream between Fiona & Paul. Be prepared for little to no reception, as this is a remote stay, perfect to disconnect and reconnect back to you! Thank you so much Fiona & Paul 🔆
