More than an Accommodation - We are a Destination! Situated on a 500-acre property overlooking the Laurentian Mountains with multiple water access options. We provide the opportunity to disconnect in order to reconnect! Slow down to enjoy life's simple pleasures or fuel your energetic self with an abundance of onsite outdoor activities for every season. Experience an off-grid lifestyle in warmth and comfort. We welcome you to come experience the true magic of staying in a geodesic dome. The Little Dipper Dome is nestled within a wilderness landscape, overlooking Bang's Creek, adding a serene sound and water element. Situated under the stars, far away from any light pollution - guests can open up into the vastness and beauty of the night sky. The dome is self-sufficient and set up for all your basic needs, including: cooking, cleaning and serving. All you should need is a cooler with your food. For cooking, there is an indoor propane double burner, a BBQ and an outdoor fire pit. There is no running water – however, large jugs of water from the onsite natural spring are provided. For heating, there is a woodstove inside to maintain a warm and cozy atmosphere. Wood for heating is included with your stay. There is no electricity in this off-grid setting - however, natural lighting is captured from the large Bay window and the 'tunnel' at the top of the dome. A USB powered lightbulb and power bank is provided for additional lighting at night time. Please note that there is no wifi or cell service at the dome, which has become a selling feature for our destination as guests are looking to disconnect. If you 'must' connect, there is one place on the property to tap into service or there is full service a quick drive down the road. The Town of Mattawa is also a 15-minute drive away. The bathroom is situated close by as a shared outhouse with our Big Dipper Dome. Construction of a private outhouse will be underway very soon. During the warmer seasons, there is an outdoor screened in gazebo with a full outdoor kitchen set up and two hammocks to relax and lounge in.
Jennifer is a great host! Our stay was very comfortable and memorable. The dome was very cozy and nestled in a very serene area. The day we reached, the road to the dome was muddy which meant our small car could get stuck. Jennifer was very kind to shuttle us into the dome and she did so promptly! This was an added fun experience for us haha! This is a great place to stay to truly get disconnected from the hustle and bustle of city life as the dome is fully off grid! We look forward to coming back in summer!
Great experience all around! Very down to earth and welcoming hosts. Beautiful location with great trails. Will definitely be back! 10/10 recommend!
Absolutely loved the place! Jen is very accommodating and friendly, and answered all the questions. The little dipper dome was extremely cute! Had the most relaxing nights - no cell phone ringing and asking work nor bothering me! Enjoyed the sunrise in the morning shining right into the dome window, and the tranquility of it. There were several nice trails to walk around, Riley was a superb trail guide dog! Sauna was very private and relaxing. Couldn't ask for more harmonic experience than this.
Our stay at Natures Harmony little dipper dome was amazing and everything we expected and more. The dome was well thought out and we had everything we needed and more. The property itself is beautiful and there’s so much to do.
Please note that the hosts live on site and we do offer a few other accommodation options. Our Little Dipper Dome is located in fairly close proximity to the Big Dipper Dome - although there is full visual privacy. Any other accommodations are remotely set on other parts of the property.
Your hosts, Jen and Tzach, are available if assistance is required. We also love to meet and connect with our guests too. However, we will always respect your privacy.
The road to the dome is maintained in all seasons. Guests can drive and park next to the dome. As we are situated on a large property, guests can walk, bike or drive to various activity access points on the property.
自我介绍
Jen & Tzach Elnekave are the owners and hosts of Nature’s Harmony and we are the proud parents of three young children, Ella, Maya and Ethan. Tzach is originally from Israel and Jen is a native Canadian. In 2002, we both left our home countries as independent travelers to tour the world for a year. But, fate had our paths cross on foreign sands. We met in a small seaside village in Cambodia and shared an immediate connection. This led to a long process of good byes, not knowing whether we would meet again, and the shuffling of travel plans to re-unite. At the end of our travels, we both spent time together in each of our home countries. Despite the obstacles of independence, distance, cultures and religions – we crossed every hurdle and we were married in Israel on April 28th, 2006. For both of us, the entire travel experience was a life changing one. We first left our home countries with nothing more than a backpack and an open mind. As individuals, we allowed the experience to guide us – with no restrictions and no time constraints. We experienced different cultures, religions, foods and learned about the history of each country. In these lesser developed countries, we often sensed an inner peace that we rarely encounter back home. The experience taught us both to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life. This travel journey will always remain one of the greatest memories of our lives. But, what followed were some of the most challenging years to come. The experience changed us more than we would have ever imagined. We now wanted so much more out of life. We felt a need to make a difference in the world and to live a life that would inspire us. We spent two hard years searching and struggling to find our purpose and meaning. In 2004, we came up with our business idea on a four hour road trip to North Bay. The idea itself encompassed everything for us. We wanted to live a green lifestyle. We wanted to create and share the type of environment that we enjoyed most while traveling. We wanted to continue to meet new people. We wanted to be close to nature. And most importantly, we wanted to make a difference – whether it is sharing our sustainable lifestyle or inspiring others to follow their dreams. We were both so excited and full of inspiration. The first place that came to mind was Mattawa because it is one of the most beautiful, yet undiscovered places in Northern Ontario. However, it didn’t take long for fear to overshadow our dream. Slowly, the dream slipped away – it never left us, but it was buried deep inside. In 2006, after a number of remarkable coincidences, the dream resurfaced. Tzach was starting to study Reiki and Jen decided to have her first session so that she could understand what he was studying. During this session, our vision was brought back to life. This time it was clear and all the fear was removed. That very same day, the listing for our place came out of no where. It felt like one of those rare opportunities that only comes once in a life time. The next day, we went to see the place and as we slowed down to turn on to the dirt road leading to the house, there was a huge wooden sign with big, red, block letters that read, ‘No Regrets’. The message was a little too powerful to ignore and from the moment we stepped through the front doors, we both knew this was the place. We are very grateful to be here and we look forward to sharing Nature’s Harmony with everyone who comes our way!
