Tannin Apartment (circa 1850) is so named as it was once the separate outbuilding of the original Georgian residence of Mr William Page who established one of the first tanneries in Bathurst. His residence "The Tannery" which sits at the front of the block, is one of the oldest existing houses on the western side of the Macquarie River. The restoration of The Tannery and adjoining Tannin Apartment has won several heritage awards.
