This is a light filled stylish dwelling house in a quiet and secluded location within the village of Derrybeg. It has its own private garden with mature trees for privacy and is within easy walking distance to shops, post office, local pubs etc.
Joe's house was fantastic and great location close to the beaches and restaurants and great hill walking. Everything in the house was perfect, comfortable and a real home from home, would highly recommend this property and will definitely use again in the future,
Beautiful open plan living space! Really lovely home- ideal for families who like to cook and really use the whole space. Lovely and clean, hot showers, great private location- safe car parking etc. Just perfect! Would highly recommend - thanks Joe
We had a wonderful few days in Joe’s house. The property was very cosy and comfortable. It was also lovely warm with lots of space for everyone. We bought fire logs at the local shop for the stove. The shop is walking distance to house and is incredibly well stocked. There’s a local pub beside it and more bars/restaurants within a short drive. The sea is also a short drive but further afield there’s breathtaking scenic coastal routes. Showers can’t be used at the same time so with our family of 7 had to ensure everyone coordinated but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Joe’s house.
Derrybeg is in the parish of Gweedore or Gaoth Dobhair in Irish. Gaoth Dobhair is an Irish speaking area or 'Gaeltacht' where the language is spoken daily by locals. It is also a coastal area with access to the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful beaches, coastal walks and many islands including Gola and Tory. There is also the attraction of the mountains including Errigal, Muckish and the Derryveagh Mountains where wild deer and Golden Eagle can be spotted. The neighbourhood is provided with good restaurants and pubs including the popular Sean Ógs Bar and Restaurant, Teach Huidí Beag's pub, Teach Jack and many more. Amharclann Gaoth Dobhair is a great venue for some irish cultural events. Sporting activities are also provided for by way of the beautiful links golf course, GAA football club, both sea and river fishing, kayaking, sea swimming, hill walking and mountain biking. There is something for everybody.
The neighbourhood is moderately hilly and is easy to access by foot of bicycle. Getting around by car is quite easy as there is always ample room to park in most cases and there are none of those double yellow lines!

My name is Joe and I'm an architect by profession. I'm very proud of my house (I designed it myself) and I really hope you will have a nice time staying in it. I live nearby, in the next house along in fact, in the lovely village of Derrybeg in the parish of Gaoth Dobhair which is a Gaeltacgt so if you have the 'cúpla focal' this is the place for your well earned break. I love t spend time hiking in the hills of Donegal with my good friend Benito
