We had the most authentic and beautifull Tanzania experience staying with Remmy and his team in the Eco Camp. Remmy helped a lot in the planning of our trip and gave so many good instructions before we arrived. We had rented a car from Dar Es Salaam and drove ourself to the camp. We stayed 4 nights and spend the days with Remmy and Isaya visiting local villages, Masai families and a school. It has given us all really good insights in how many Tanzanians live, and memories for life. Our kids (age 8 and 13) enjoyed playing with both the dogs and little Kelvin (a local boy in the camp). The camp is very basic (for a European) which was what we where looking for. Beate cooked all the food over open fire and all food was vegetarian. We recommend everybody to have a stay in this camp. Remmy has done so much to the local society and is a very inspirational person to meet. By staying in the camp you support this local society and get memories for life.
Remigius est une très belle personne, nous avons vécu une expérience atypique et hors du commun. En effet, l'éco camp est perdu au milieu de la brousse, le confort est rudimentaire mais l'expérience humaine est géniale ! Nous avons été super bien acceuillis par tout les habitants et nous avons partagé de beaux moments avec eux ! Remigius organise aussi des excursions au safari de mikumi, il s'occupe de toute l'organisation pour un prix très correct, c'était super ! Il peut aussi vous aider dans vos transports ( bus, etc) Nous avons également très bien mangé, les repas sont cuisinés avec les produits du potager En somme, une super découverte et une immersion totale dans la culture locale ! Verblijf bij mister Remmy is anders dan een touristisch verblijf, het is een vrijwilligersdorp midden in de natuur. Een verblijf zonder westerse badkamer en internet was even wennen voor onze tieners. Als je daartoe bereid bent, word je ontvangen als een langverloren vriend en ben je binnen enkele dagen bekend met alle lokale gebruiken. Je mag kennis maken met lokale projecten en komt in contact met interessante andere vrijwilligers. Neem wat schoolspullen mee, deze komen goed terecht.
Wow, what an amazing experience we had!! We hired a car as a family and drove from Dar Es Salam (we were going to Mikumi National Park after and it was a great place to stay over on the way!) the drive was very easy - one straight road from Dar Es Salam. The place was amazing! Very very very remote and beautifully quiet. All do the stuff were extremely helpful and looked after us the whole time. Mr Remi is a wonderful man and has done so much for the community. He took us to visit a primary school which was incredible and showed us where he is building a hospital. The food we had was freshly prepared and delicious - all vegetarian and all amazing! The whole team there is wonderful! This was an amazing and unique experience for us and I highly recommend it to anyone! Go and stay and support the team there!
Great place if you're looking for a bush experience. Remi is an excellent host and very helpful in coordinating safari. It's also great to see how the eco camp contributes directly back into the community.

I am a pioneer in improving livelihood of the people living along Ngerengere River on the boundary of Morogoro and Pwani regions in Tanzania. I am very much concerned with environment and community development issues. With many other projects we are running an Eco camp which is located along the river. The Eco was purposely set up to accommodate volunteers who are coming in huge number to work with us in our different projects. Currently we have introduced new service which is accommodation for short and long stay for travelers who want to stay and experience new culture as well as environment. Our camp is unique: all huts are furnished with natural materials, our food are 100% organic, all rooms are contained with bathrooms, we provide three standard meals as from breakfast, lunch and dinner and filtered water. While at Eco camp you will have a chance to do tours to Maasai households, local village tour, River walk, siting and enjoying evening camp fire, watching beautiful birds as well white and black colorbus monkeys. Majengo nature camp is a new structure ready to accommodate a family of to people. It well designed and a bit isolated from the major camp. We are also offering a unique cultural tourism experience! Our guests can learn and experience the culture of the people. They will meet local villagers and also Maasai families. We organise trips to Mikumi national Park at a reasonable price. In Mikumi expect to see zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants, buffalo. antelopes, Impala,monkeys, etc. While at camp you will do bush walk, enjoy evening campfire, do river/bush walks. We organise airport pick up and other transfers to different destinations. We have highly experienced tour guides. Explore the beauty of Tanzania with us. Hospitality is our culture.
