Trout’s Loft was a unique experience. The 2 bedroom apartment is nestled above a candy store. The building is older and has floor slopes and creeks that add to its character. That didn’t detract from this updated apartment. Everything was perfect for a long weekend. The beds were comfortable, couch was cozy and TV easy to navigate. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The host was very accommodating with a later check out when our plans changed. The town does roll up its sidewalks early (even on weekends- we didn’t get to try Vibrissa as it closed earlier than time posted) so plan ahead. Martin’s grocery is a short drive away, Royal Spice and PaveMint were both amazing. Vault & Cellar in nearby Middleton was a gem. The only drawback was 6:30 am noise from Main St. But, the town was decorating for the holidays and fixing up empty storefronts so it was hard to stay upset. The town is very much evolving. Be sure to support the businesses that are open along Main St.

I was really nervous being the first person to book this airbnb, but my stay was great! Melissa welcomed me with a nice welcome basket and card which really made me feel at home. The place was clean and in a great location in town that was just 30 minutes from the entrance of Shenandoah - the reason for my trip. The living room and kitchen was spacious, cosy, neat, and stocked with the essentials that I needed to make breakfast every morning. I felt like I was staying at a friend's apartment because I just felt so at home here. My only complaint was that it was tricky getting used to the digital lock - you have to click any button to turn it on, then put in the code. Otherwise, I had a really great stay here and will definitely return the next time I'm in town.
