From there, either climb three steps up to the open concept kitchen and dining area, or descend a staircase to the lower level. Up on the main floor, the kitchen is a comfortable, intuitive place to make a great big family meal or fix a snack. There is plenty of counter space, a gas stove island, a dishwasher, a Viking convection oven, and fridge and freezer for your use. The freezer does not automatically make icebubes and dispense water, but ice trays await use in freezer. A variety of kitchen appliances and cast iron pans are available by request. The adjacent dining area opens to the porch and grill, and overlooks the sunken great room, three steps down. The Great Room enjoys picture windows on all walls, and many fun places to rest, stretch, or play. In the southeast corner is a family favorite sofa we call the Snuggle Cloud…you’ll see why. Back up on the main level is also the master bedroom, with a queen luxury mattress, feather pillows, breathable bedding, a desk, a sit spot in a bay window, and a nice big closet. An adjoining soaking tub and vanity suite make the Master Bedroom experience quite relaxing. The toilet/shower washroom is separated by a door, and is also the main floor’s washroom. The lower level’s clay-plastered bedroom has a full sized bed and enjoys a little private patio opening to the back yard. All bedding is breathable cotton or linen, with down comforters to get a sound Alaskan night's sleep. The lower level has a full bathroom with a tub, a dedicated workspace with a desk and shelves, and a laundry room with a sink and work surface. There is another bedroom and a sauna on the lower level, which are off limits to guests, and which will be locked. Furnishings may not be exactly the same as the photos but similar. Our neighborhood is quiet, residential, and rural. Locals may describe the location by saying, the house is “about 7 miles out East End Rd”, or “just before Fritz Creek” which refers to both the area surrounding Fritz Creek and a beloved and historical hub, Fritz Creek General Store, which tragically caught fire last year and is closed for maintenance at this time.
Parking in front of the house is ample and private.
We may be able to swoop you up from airport, check with us for availability!
Our neighborhood is quiet and residential, and the gravel driveway and street are on an incline, so please bring appropriate footwear to walk the area. Alternately, shop for gear once you arrive at the Gear Shed, Homer Jeans, Homer Thrift, or Salvation Army!
Four cruising bikes in various states of repair are available upon request. BYO helmet and other protective gear. However, there are not bike lanes to safely ride from the house to town, you’ll want to drive your bikes to a bike path, sidewalk, etc. There are also bikes for rent in town, on the spit, etc!
自我介绍
I'm an artist, builder, and business owner. I travel quite a lot and delight in the opportunity to experience new-to-me homes and places. I'm a born and raised Chicagoan, now living in Homer with my partner and dog. I'm interested in how things work, how things are made, how things relate. I like spacial harmony, beautiful craftwork and design, and I really love feather pillows, soaking tubs, starry skies, vast vistas, spanish, and food!
