We were really very pleased with our stay at Boris's canal apartment. The location is exceptional. The apartment is located on the wharf, steps from the water. It was very peaceful - it's a treat to hear nothing but the sounds of people, birdsong and the occasional boat passing by on the canal while in the centre of the city. And being in the centre of Utrecht means that everything is a short walk away - restaurants, groceries, etc. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with all of the amenities Boris promised. The host was helpful, friendly and proactive, with recommendations for things to do and offers to assist with whatever we needed. This is a very unique place that I highly recommend.

What a lovely stay on right on the canal at Boris’s AirBnb ! A fantastic location, every turn we took felt like we discovered a new street of adventure. It felt very romantic to sit outside with a coffee and watch the boats go by. Very clean and simple, we didn’t feel we needed anything more, be sure to try out the massive tub! I appreciated they had a book that explained how to use every appliance, as well as recommendations for how to be a local. Thank you for the wonderful time !

Great unique stay in a wharf cellar with the canal literally a few feet outside your front door. Keep in mind that there is not a lot of natural light due to the unique location of the apartment, but is obviously to be expected. The apartment was a nice size for two people and the heated floors were very nice when the weather was a bit chillier. Very walkable on the northern end of the city center only 5-10 minutes right to the center of the city. One useful suggestion: a curtain between the bedroom and rest of apartment to block out the bright light of the exit sign at night.

This may be the best place I've ever stayed in through Airbnb. A truly unique apartment, it's literally a cave, carved out of the banks of the canal at the heart of Utrecht. You're right in the middle of town, but down at canal level where it's peaceful and beautiful. The apartment itself is a good, complete one bedroom place with the best bathtub I've used in recent memory and a full kitchen. But it's the cave aspect that makes it magical, with a curved ceiling that shows the clay from which it's carved. Even the day when we didn't go out to do anything at all felt like a special part of our vacation here. The host is an expert: friendly and responsive, he has clearly rented out spaces so many times that he knows how to handle anything you might ask. We got clear instructions on getting in through the keypad before we asked. When we got inside, a thick folder of information guided us through the mysteries of the oven and the dishwasher. A wonderful experience.
