Katias home is beautiful, and truly a birders paradise! The grounds are exceptional, and the temperature inside the house was able to be kept perfectly comfortable despite the very hot temperatures outside. It had a great cross-breeze. And the hammocks made for a lovely place to enjoy the breeze and stay cool and watch the tree of toucans. As mentioned, Consuelo was great, so helpful, and a very welcomed site for opening up the house and providing all of the hints needed for keeping the house. The house is in the jungle, and we had to get rid of some jungle insects the first evening, but after better securing the screens and doors the second night, it was not a problem at all. As mentioned in other reviews, the night noises made for a restless first night, but were just as described and when we were more accustomed to them, weren’t a problem at all after the first night. Both Katia and Consuelo were very proactive and responsive, and the directions were very thorough and helpful.

I have been looking for a few extra days to find words to adequately review this Airbnb... And I'm still not sure I found enough positive workday to adequately describe our experience! Simply put - this Airbnb was amazing! My family and I booked this based on wanting to be in the area to visit ruins (Tikal) and ATM cave. We loved both excursions, but enjoyed coming back to the house as much as both trips. Kids loved the pool, wife and I loved the relaxing deck with birds everywhere. House was clean and felt comfy and safe. House is just outside town enough not to deal with busy city, but close enough that our tour guides were happy to swing out and pick us up. Most of all, we absolutely LOVED having Consuelo help us. She was amazing. We gratefully agreed to have her cook each night for us. Normally I am a bit cheap and like to look cook ourselves, but it was worth the spend for great food and ease! Don't hesitate with this space. Worth it!

Perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids. So beautiful and private but close to all we wanted to see and do. Katia was always responsive. Easiest check out ever!

Pros: Beautiful, large house with great views. Nice landscaping and terrific pool. Kitchen is well-equipped. Consuelo is excellent in welcoming guests and showing where things are and how they work. Frank is the groundskeeper and is friendly as are the four dogs who joyously greeted me every time I returned home. Katia responds to messages promptly. I saw lots of colorful birds and lizards. San Ignacio is a short drive away. Cons: The drive up the hill is indeed a bit rough and glad I rented an SUV. The roosters and dogs barking at night was not that bad. The biggest disappointment was that there is seasonal agricultural slash and burn smoke nearly continuously with just a couple days of fresh air. I have respiratory problems and I had to check out early because of the hazard. Irrespective of any health concerns, the air was disgusting. . The host understood and gave a partial refund, but I had to relocate to the coast. My 5* review then applies only to the house.

Katia and Consuelo- thank you so much for helping to make our stay perfection! We would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the area. The home was spotless, the grounds are breathtaking. We arranged for Consuelo to have a home cooked meal for us when we arrived- what a treat. We rented an suv and were able to explore all of the surrounding areas with ease. Thank you again and we hope to return one day.
