Lakes Resort is a gated community featuring a shared swimming pool, gym and recreation facilities, tennis court, all while one of the best golden sand beaches in New Zealand is only 4kms down the road. For the avid golfer, enjoy this handy position to the local course for days spent out on the green. The club rooms also serve meals when you feel like putting your feet up after a round or two. Great house and location. However, we were given wrong instructions on arrival and we were stranded on Boxing Day. The name we were given to dial on the intercom on the front gate did not exist! We called bachcare however there was a fault in their system and we couldn’t get through. A neighbour saw us in a pickle and she opened the gate for us

Although the stay was absolutely amazing but one thing disappointing was that fleas at the property. I stayed in the bunk beds room and whosoever stayed at the bunk bed room we are full of flea bites. Although property was clean and no issues but the property got flea issues. Please advise batchcare and get the property fumigated before your stay. Thankfully we didn’t had kids who stayed at that room.

The place is as listed. Bachcare was very good and easy to communicate. They have helped us twice on changing our booking dates and also requesting a late check out. Prompt response and action. The neighbourhood is quiet and enjoyable. Beds are on soft side but comfortable. Remember to bring what you need for a stay such as shampoo, cooking needs etc as only towels and toilet paper was provided basically. Nice place for quiet nights in and catch up as nothing much around.

Very peaceful and safe. Kids played outside on the road as it was very quiet with no traffic due to it being private and gated. Great amenities at the house. Pool toys and racquets at the house were a bonus for using in the communal resort facilities. Kitchen was really well stocked with cooking equipment. Plenty of room for 2 families to share. Great stay.

Lovely location inside a gated community. Had so many facilities on site that we took advantage of and the property was amazing - nice, clean and spacious. Only downside is that there is really nothing already there when you arrive so had to bring everything, the code on the lockbox wasn't the same as the email which made checking in frustrating as I had to call them and the pillows were extremely soft - no firmness. Other than that, great place!
